In other words, are SERMs (or AI) useful for raising T level when administered with other AAS? NO. How would SERMs (or AI) act to raise gonadotropins when the HPTA is being suppressed actively. |

It did raise both free and total testosterone, but I experienced no subjective benefits. I feel worse than when I started. |

I feel worse than when I started. | I looked at a few studies on this topic and found that where a positive increase in testosterone occured, clomid was not used indefinitely. From reading some of the posts by members undergoing PCT, there are various reports of depressive feelings and sometimes visual problems. Both are reported to remit with discontinuation of clomid. I haven't looked at the literature to validate the last observation.

What do you think of using SERMs or AI's for sole treatment of secondary hypogonadism? |

There are companies exploring the long term use of SERMs.
Gtx ( GTx. Hormone pathways to treat cancer, bone loss, muscle wasting) is researching the use of toremifene for prevention of bone loss in androgen deprivation therapy in prostate cancer.
RPRX ( Repros Therapeutics) and QUATRx ( QuatRx Pharmaceuticals) are investigating the use of enclomiphene and fispemifene, respectively, for use in secondary hypogonadism.
The FDA has stated that the use of non- testosterone therapies to replace testosterone treatment is an unacceptable indication at this time!!! |

How would SERMs (or AI) act to raise gonadotropins when the HPTA is being suppressed actively. | Based on this study I'd expect *some* SERMs, specifically tamoxifen, clomiphene and perhaps toremifene to act in an hCG-like fashion while on cycle with testosterone (or other androgens which suppress the HPTA largely via increased estrogen [apparently tamoxifen can raise LH even in the presence of a lot of excess estrogen])... Testicle size worries? Try a course of Nolvadex + Andriol
I'd expect enclomiphene to be popular both on and off cycle (PCT) if it is ever released, as it sounds like the test-boosting SERM from heaven ("More potent than Clomid with NO weepy SX!); unfortunately, all the current SERMs suck from my perspective (Okay, I've only tried three)...
