Compounded Test Cream

I currently inject testosterone cypionate and I was talking to my doctor about it. He said if I wanted to stop the injections he could call in a prescription to a compounding pharmacy for a cream that is 10% testosterone in an ECB base. All I could find on this is that the doses are in whole or fractions of a ML. Does anyone know had my MGs of testosterone would be in one ML of this cream? Would the absorption be similar to Androgel at about 10% on average?

I use a 5% liposomal gel which is made by a compounding chemist. Works much better for me than shots.

I believe 5% is the best strength according to studies, and if you need more you just use more of it, you don't increase the actual strength.

I use 1gram a day in the morning.

Does this absorb better than Androgel? 1g=1000mgX5%=50mgX10%(absorption)=5mg/day. This is the dose of 5g Androgel which is 1%. I used this and my TT only went to 254ng/dL. That is why I went to injections and need to inject 100mg twice a week just to keep my levels in the upper normal level. I dose twice a week to smooth out my levels and keep my E2 down. I am happy with this treatment. The only reason I would even consider going back to a transdermal is if I could get a much higher dose than Androgel could ever give and to avoid injections.

My new doctor says he will never prescribe Androgel because the dose is way too low for most people and the cost is extremely high compared to a higher concentration compounded cream. I checked and without insurance Androgel runs around $150-$200 a month. A compounding pharmacy said 90days of the 10% cream would run $101. What I don't know is how much is in 1ml since the 90days is 90ml. The new Dr. either recommends the TCyp injections or a strong cream.

You need the compounded test to be in an oil carrier which will absorb it into your skin well.

The guy who makes mine uses a very specialised one and I think he says he can get around 30-40% absorption.

It's called "liposomal" so give that a google to find a compounding chemist that uses it.

FYI

Company based in Scotland will be filing new compounded testosterone cream with FDA late 2008/early 2009. It has about 30% market share in Sweden and doing well since release elsewhere in Europe.

The cream will be marketed as Fortigel in the US and the company is called ProStrakan if you want to do your own research. It has to be refiled with the FDA since the testosterone levels in some patients were on the high side - this would infer people who can't raise their testosterone levels high enough with Androgel or Testim would be better trying this when it's available in the US. The higher concentration also means less needs to be applied and it is sold in a convenient pump meter for easier dosage.

BTW, I got in contact with one of the compounding pharmacies my Dr. recommended and they said the 10% cream has 100mg of testosterone per mL. This is the same amount as 10g of Androgel. The difference is going to be how well it is absorbed. They accept most insurance but said 90mL was $101 without insurance. Definately cheaper than Androgel.

I am doing the 100% which has 100mg of testosterone ml mL twice a day, and having a very difficult time getting my levels up. According to my doc, I have a hard time with absorption, and then I hypermetablize the testosterone. anyone have any suggestions on how to increase absorption, and slow down the metabolizing of the test?

BTW...you're price is good. My compounding phar charges almost $300 for a month supply for me...however, I am doing 100mg twice a day.
