Default How long does it take Arimidex to kick in?

Is it supposed to work immediately or does it take a few weeks to take effect.

Also, when it does take effect, does it start working immediately after taking it or does it take a few hours, days?

Some say almost immediatly. I know for sure within the first 24 hours. Phil(pmgamer18) takes it and says he can notice within an hour our two.

It will start to work fast but only lowers 70% on the first pill. I tried to get my E2 down from 90 taking .5 mgs every otherday in 4 weeks did a test and nothing. So we upped it to .5 everyday and in 2 week my levels started to come down. First thing that happened was my ED got 80% better and I could have sex with out using a pump or taking a pill. And I had not had an orgasm for over 10 yrs this came back.

Pharmacodynamics
Effect on Estradiol: Mean serum concentrations of estradiol were
evaluated in multiple daily dosing trials with 0.5, 1, 3, 5, and 10
mg
of ARIMIDEX in postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer.
Clinically significant suppression of serum estradiol was seen with
all doses. Doses of 1 mg and higher resulted in suppression of mean
serum concentrations of estradiol to the lower limit of detection
(3.7
pmol/L).
>The recommended daily dose, ARIMIDEX 1 mg, reduced estradiol by
approximately 70%
>within 24 hours and by approximately 80% after 14 days of daily
dosing. Suppression of
>serum estradiol was maintained for up to 6 days after cessation of
daily dosing with ARIMIDEX 1 mg.

My problem right now is that I am unable to afford a blood test because it runs like $400. That will change in a few months once my business picks up.

But having been on TRT for 11 years, I know I am very prone to E2; the impotency, BPH, red chest and face, irritability, bloatness, etc.

So I bought some Arimidex and I have been going slowly with it, taking no more than .5 ml every other day at best. But I'm thinking that I need to increase the dosage.

And yes, I know a blood test will make things much easier for me, but that is going to have to wait.

Are you getting morning wood if not then up the med to everyday. When wood starts and your libido goes up your E2 is comming down. Now for the hard part not to go to low. It is simple keep an eye on morning wood if it stops see if you can get it up if not your to low. So stop the Arimidex until the wood comes back then go back on it but cut back on how much your taking like half.

Hi,

It should take only a couple of hours to take effect, but due to it's 1/2 life of 2-3 days it will take a week for the level of arimidex in you system to stabilize. Other choices are: Letrozole which is even stronger. ATD (androstane triene dione) which is sold as Rebound XT is also a real AI, however if you take it at the recommend does 3 cap/day it will kill your libido and may make you joints sore as well. ATD will mess up your labs since it cross reacts with the chemicals they use to test for T.
