| | How is it Possible I'm Anemic?? Okay, this is a continuation of a thread I began on the steroids forum in which I complained about ongoing symptoms of exhaustion, dizziness, sleepiness, and, especially, shortness of breath. I thought it might be the hGH & thyroid problems or possibly a high RBC count since that's what I had last year. BUT I just got the results from my ECG (pretty okay) and from blood tests that indicate my RBC count is very low and I am iron deficient, meaning I'm anemic, of all things! As a long-term bodybuilder, I know it's not my diet. I'm currently running Test e, EQ, & a little Tren, but the weakness & tiredness began well before I began this cycle (thus my thinking it might be thryoid shut-down from the hGH).
My new doc does not know I use anything of questionable legality and, at this point, I see no need to tell her. She is convinced I have internal bleeding going on somewhere and I'm getting tubes put into my entire digestive tract soon to check out this possibility (with pictures?). I do have some hard gut distention and occasionally get very painful swellings in my upper gut that pulsate like hernias, but all that's there is swollen hard muscle tissue. They pass, but this may be from internal bleeding. I'll be seeing a cardiologist too. What I want to know on this forum is whether or HGH could be contributing to this low-iron, low RBC anemia. I have never heard of such a thing. And only a year ago I was high RBC! I'd do anything to regain my natural energy and old self. Any knowledgeable thoughts (not guesses) greatly appreciated!

| | Re: How is it Possible I'm Anemic?? Surely they are running some tests now? My only thoughts are that I cant tell you how many stories I have heard about folks falling over low on blood from gobbling NSAIDS and developing ulcers they can feel that bleed them out over time. Did they look at the GI tract yet? Also I think that the newer artritis drugs "that are so much safer than hydrocodone" LOL LOL LOL are supposed to bleed ya??!? So anyways - got to be a leaker is my thought... Quote:

It is strange that you went from one extreme to the other

That could not have been good for internal bleeding. Now I'm on Pariet (rabeprazole), so my stomach should be fine. I need a cork!

Has Peliosis Hepatis been ruled out? | Hi Michael. I did share my lifestyle with my previous doctor, and he hooked me with a urologist with whom I shared my background. The urologist put me on HRT, but let me know that if I went back on AAS he would no longer prescribe. He found my high RBC count and with blood donations and no supplements for a period of time it all went back to normal. I'll go back to him when it's time.
My previous GP went on to do work for the needy, so my new GP, a rather stiff Chinese lady, has not been informed of my AAS & GH use. (As long as my urologist knows, I thought that quite enough.) I think she would go into shock if she knew and, worse, even if my current anemia has nothing to do with AAS or GH, I'm sure she would immediately order me off. I don't think my current situation is a result of GH or AAS, Michael, so I do not see why I should share my lifestyle at this point with this GP, who will then be prejudiced against me ever after. Peliosis Hepatis is an interesting suggestion. My liver checks out as normal functioning in blood tests, but my doctor has ignored my repeated complaints that I feel something like a bubble in what would be the upper area of my liver. That is also where I occasionally get this sudden & wrenching side pain when the muscle tissue sticks out almost like a hernia. I'll mention to my GP but also to the cardiologist, whom I will be seeing at some point.
Thanks, at last, for some solid feedback!

Solo | If your GP freaks about your past get a new one. If she immediately wants you off what the urologist Rx'd then she's wicked unprofessional.
You may feel like your GP doesn't need to know your past but I think you're wrong. They are the ones looking at the whole picture including risk factors that maybe off your urologist's radar. |

| | Re: How is it Possible I'm Anemic?? You should be fine once they get it. So let us know how the Gi Cam works out. I had a buddy recently who had an ulcer, I think they found it on blood count like that. Of course he got the bottom end and the top end inspected. LET US KNOW WHAT IT IS... Good luck.
And dont wait till ya hit the floor, or pass out behind the wheel and run into someone's kid. get on down there.... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
