| | Does Paleo only work if you follow it 100%? I wonder what happens if a person wants to try if Paleo works for her but she doesn't avoid all forbidden foods, would it not work at all or still work to a certain degree?
Are oats for example allowed? Or what about wheat germs? I eat wheat germs cause they're supposed to be very nutrient dense but I don't know if they're allowed according to Paleo.
I also wonder what if a Paleo forbids a certain food but you have no problem with it? How can a person even tell if a food causes problems or not?
I also ask myself what about natives in poor country who eat diets mostly based on grains? Is what they do unhealthy? Should they all be in bad shape according to Paleo and are they really in bad shape? Cause if they're not then this would disprove Paleo. |

meat and fish, vegetables, some fruit maybe. some nuts should be ok. avoid vegetable oil and processed sugar and starch.
oats? not sure. wheat germ? dunno. grains? forget em. for the most part. i like stews. tomatos, onions, and meats and other veggies.

The Hadza are hunter-gatherers in Tanzania. Their diet can be conveniently categorized into five main categories: tubers, berries, meat, baobab, and honey.

And are beans and lentils allowed? I eat lentils regularly cause I thought they're a healthy source of carbs.
And I also couldn't find anything about oats. Are oats allowed?
And in order to follow this diet or Paleo do you also have to buy organic foods or can you also buy at the supermarket? I'm asking cause the vegetables in organic food shops are ridiculously expensive and basically unaffordable. |

| | Re: Does Paleo only work if you follow it 100%? Well, honestly, pinkman what do you think the answer is?
What happens to people who go on a diet to lose weight, but dont follow it strictly?
What happens to people who try to quit smoking, but dont follow it strictly?
Organic can mean all sorts of things. Many times you're paying more money for something that isnt any better for you than what you can get at a supermarket. It's a case-by-case judgement call.
Beans and lentils are allowed if they are soaked first. Some dont eat them at all.
Wheat is NOT Paleo. Period.
Oats are in the 'gray zone' afa Paleo is concerned. Are Oats Healthy? | Mark's Daily Apple

| | Re: Does Paleo only work if you follow it 100%? O OK, I had to Wiki it ...
"Centered on commonly available modern foods, the "contemporary" Paleolithic diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, vegetables, fruit, fungi, roots, and nuts, and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.[1][3][4]"
I don't even see Hydrogenated Cotton Seed Oil in there.
How can that not even be in there? Isn't it one of the
7 major food groups? .. Yeah, I believe it is, right behind
High Fructose Corn Syrup .. |

THEN, following the usual logic the food industry is famous for, this brilliant idea popped into their heads: " You cant use it to light your house anymore to read and see at night, so you might as well eat it." |

And can you use some oil for salad dressing? I really don't know if Paleo would work for me. Getting too obsessive about eating also isn't healthy it only creates more stress. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
