The "Global Commission on Drug Policy" mentioned in President Carter's NYT op-ed has a facebook page at:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Globa...52719251464195

I wrote them suggesting that drug policy reformers not forget to include steroid law reform. The responded by making me an administrator of their Facebook page!

I think its a great idea. As most drug users are liberals, the more we can get to light up, the less likely they are to want to part with those tasty cheesy bites to vote. I say, go for it.

Those who would typically vote conservative - you "yuppie" types - will probably choose Cocaine. So they will have the energy to vote.

Great idea Jimmy. When do we start.

bless you gmerits! when indeed.
i like stimulants. for energy. and lighting up. not so concerned with tasty cheesy bites though. and im not affiliated with any party. maybe i am the party.
it might decrease the violence that comes with wars to control it though. and lower costs. because theres less risk of law enforcement. which is part of the reason for high prices. and why cartels make so much money. cocaine. heroin. marijuana. id start there. theyre big. and theyre just plants. and the most fought over.

And don't forget to tax the hell out of them. Revenue I can believe in. So we raise revenue, keep the liberals home and stocked in their comfy chairs playing videogames and munching like there's no tomorrow AND we get revenue in the process. I like it.

in all seriousness. yeah. regulate and tax. instead of taxing to fight. its seems unwinable. and the revenue is in the wrong hands. violent hands. and law enforcement should concentrate on more serious crimes than people getting high. which i dont think is a crime in of itself.
then again. who isnt on drugs. everyone here is. prescribed on not. some drugs have been labeled evil somehow. or thier off label use. and i dont think it has to be a free for all. some drugs exist. but not everthing on the shelf.
