Default Pro's BB Cardio Regmine

Hey guys here is a kind of grey area i think about in the pro's part of BBing, in magazines it doesnt really talk about the pros cardio regimine at all hardly, even in MD magazine...here is my take on it. okay i started doing cardio right after my workouts for 30 minutes, i try to keep my heart rate between 130-140 im 24 yrs old...is that high enough to cut down some fat? i saw lee preist dvd "another blond myth" he was on a stationary bike reading a newspaper for an hour in the morning. now its really hard to read a newspaper while trying to hit a high heart rate, so i assume that he pedals on a stationary bike on the lowest setting for an hour. is that enough to burn fat? could i do cardio for an hour after my workouts (4-5 times a week) at a low intesity like 1 or 2 setting. heart rate about 120-130 and get super ripped? assuming that diet is spot on and gear use/training is spot on as well...im taking into account that all the right factors exist because at the end of the day no matter HOW good you eat or how much gear you use/training..u cant be ripped unless you do cardio...im lazy when it comes to cardio. Im not the first nor the last person to say that but if i can get on a bike for an hour at low intensity assuming i am eating right and gear /training is spot on and get ripped then i would rather do 1 hour of easy cardio than 30 minutes of intense cardio....cuz believe me i would LOVE to read MD magazine or Flex magazine on a stationary bike pedaling for an hour on 1 or 2 setting....what your guy's take on this? is it possible, or is Lee Preist the only one who can do an hour on a stationary bike at low intensity and get ripped? i know levrone on levronereport.com cardio in his youtube videos he states he want to get ripped so he does 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night, he was saying that all while he was walking on a treadmill at full tilt but NO WHERE did he state his goals for heart rate during his 1 hour cardio training sessions...and neither does lee preist state in his video either what heart rate he was searching for, nor was he grabbing the handles of the bike to check his heart rate, do the pros not care about heart rate? do they simply think that if they do cardio regardless of heart rate that it will suffice?

In addition to your weight training, do about 30 min of cardio plus a 5 min warmup and warm down. Try inclining the treadmill all the way, (15 degrees), and walk at around 3.2-3.4 miles an hour which will keep your heart rate in the range of 13-0135bpm which in turn will burn fat. Its almost like cheating because its wayyyyy better than an hour long run....you burn the same caliories doing that in a half hour. It's my fave way to cut down! Do it atleast 5 days a week.

From personaly experience - i have been doing 45min of cardio 5-6 days a week, cardio in the mornings - weights at night. I keep my heart rate at a min of 130 (this is key to lose fat).

I get bored VARY easy doing cardio so ill start running on the Treadmil and run for 15min, switch to bike for 10, back to treadmil for 10, and finally back on bike for 10. This has worked very well for me.

Keep in mind if you do low intensity cardio its important not to miss a cardio workout... the low intensity cardio will do the trick. but there can be more effective was to get where you need to be quicker. Try doing interval training... where you fluctuate you heart rate from high to low...
Personally i have just stuck with the 45min of cardio have have seen good results in the long run

Heart rate is important when cutting, but not in the manner you are speaking of. High heart rate is NOT what you looking for. Higher heart rate ( 2x resting heart rate or greater) builds cardiovascular endurance but, DOES NOT burn fat. A moderate heart rate (approxiamtely 1.5x resting heart rate) is ideal for fat loss. In a cutting phase you create a caloric deficit with your diet. This leaves your body with very little fuel for physical activity. So in theory any exertion will have to be fueled by fat , right? Wrong. At higher heart rates in the presence of a caloric deficit, your body will resort to LEAN MUSCLE as fuel. The idea is to maintain a moderate heart rate for an extended period of time to burn fat and spare hard earned muscle. Don't think of the amount of calories you burn in one session, but rather the cumulative number you will burn in all of your cardio sessions during the cut. My contest diet was 12 weeks. I did cardio 2x daily for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. In twelve weeks I dropped 45lbs. This is what worked for me.
