I mean I would say helping to invest in education and higher education, give our teachers and educators the pay and benefits they deserve as they literally create the next generation and future of America. He wants to invest in infrastructure, provide tax cuts for the middle and lower class, improve access to healthcare, provide better housing for Americans. He also wants to improve support for our Veterans--a group of people which Trump has repeatedly insulted and cut benefits for (here's a
nice exhaustive list). He wants to implement some tax reform which will actually funnel money back into the middle, upper-middle, and lower class Americans that need it, as opposed to Trump's policies which 99% of his tax cuts went to the top 1% and corporations.
Look, I am NOT saying Biden is going to magically fix everything. I just wish republicans would give him a fucking chance. We had Obama, who wasn't perfect either and did make a lot of mistakes, but he did his best and he really got America back onto the right track after the Great Recession. Then we had Trump, who came in and despite the vast majority of working American's really not having their lives get any better, they went nuts for him because they liked his rallies and the things he said (even though they were often outright lies or he never actually backed them up with action).
Give Biden a chance, he has some really, really excellent policies outlined in his campaign. Policies that have the potential to
actually make America great again--because Trump definitely did NOT do that. Biden's policies are looking towards the future, setting America and the American People up for long term success. Creating better opportunity, lowering the wealth gap so that people our middle and lower class people can stop getting squeezed to death by debt and financial stress.
This sums it all up right here, taken from the Biden campaign site:
- Trump wants to give the 10 richest billionaires – who have made a total of $196 billion this year amid the COVID-19 crisis – a combined $17.2 billion tax cut.
- Trump wants to give the 50 richest billionaires – who have made $312 billion during the COVID-19 crisis – a combined $27.5 billion tax cut.
- Trump wants to give the 100 richest billionaires – who have made $334 billion during the COVID-19 crisis, a combined $29 billion tax cut.
Can you please tell me how that is going to benefit real American People like you and me? You can't, because it won't. Time and time again those billionaires have proven by action that they will simply
hoard that wealth in their investment assets and bank accounts (or maybe splurge on a few luxury goods that still put minimal money back into the system), slowing the velocity of money, putting a huge drag on the American economy, and putting us at a huge disadvantage on the global scale. Instead, Biden wants to increase taxes for those people, decrease taxes for you and me, and then use that money to INVEST in America. INVEST in infrastructure, education, healthcare. I don't understand how anybody can think that is a bad idea?
We have tried GOP economics during Bush and during Trump and both times the economy got worse and the livelihood and opportunity for the vast majority of working Americans got worse. Obama was 8 years of gridlock due to GOP reps being impossible to work with, so you really can't point to those years and say "look, liberal policies don't work." Well, now we actually have the chance to try them out. If things don't get better, then I will have been proved wrong 4 years from now. However, I truly think they will get better--for everyone.
