Weight gain as in fat? Nope, never experienced it.

Clomid, as it is primarily used by members here, is to help raise testosterone levels.

I've been on Clomid mono therapy for about a year now as well. Good results. Have bumped my T-levels from the 500-505 range to just around 700 and I only take 20mg every three days. Sometimes I take even less. Labs have been between 680-720 for a year at every three month measuring. My last labs pre-clomid were 503. It works. I feel stronger and more like a man overall, but there are some sides. Moodiness and irritability on occasion. And sometimes it seems to help my sex drive and other times it seems to kill it.

I plan on doing my first real cycle at age 48 and hope that clomid will jump start me as I seem to respond to it well. I've tried HCG mono therapy and it killed my T.

Don't cycle, absolutely not worth it. At your age you should be focused on lean low body fat and cut for your health not adding mass. I cycled in my 30's, on TRT now because of it in my 50's and worked to lose all the muscle mass I gained because it was just as unhealthy as too much fat. Your body is designed to be a certain size to maintain optimal health. To start cycling at any age is playing with fire but to start at your age is just pointless.

Dr. prescribed TRT yes, cycle no.

I am rethinking actually cycling. What are you thoughts with my long term use of Clomid keeping my T in the 700-range? Do you think cycling Clomid alone is a good idea? Or should I just stay on the low steady dose?

If you feel good on Clomid and the sides don't bother you then you can use it until it stops working. I started with an endocrinologist and he preferred Clomid for TRT as long as it worked. It made my labs perfect but I had a side that most do not in that it killed my libido. Then I switched to T injections 2 x a week and have been great for a few years.

What would you do in my situation?

Labs without any clomid run 500 and that is just not high enough for me. I run full labs every three months. All other labs are optimal, but still had poor erection quality and frequency. Sex drive overall was probably better without Clomid, but still not where I needed it.

I go on Clomid now for about a year, labs run 680-730, at 20mg of clomid every THREE days, so low dose bumps me up. At this range, I feel better overall, as in pumps at gym, gaining muscle, just feel more confident and like a man. But sex drive is hit and miss. For a few days, I'll feel like humping a hole in the wall, and as fast as that comes on, it's gone and nothing.

Would you let the Clomid ride, drop it and run lower, but still normal T in the high 400's to 500 and just live with it?

Or go on TRT and feel like a God?

when I suggested starting TRT therapy here, given the numbers above, I got some fairly harsh critics.

You won't feel like a god on TRT, many have problems with it, and you are on it for life. While I am not having complications like many do in here, I do not feel godlike, just much better than I did with T levels in the 200's. But I do now give blood every 8 weeks as my HCT was running high normal. I also have to go for bi monthly blood tests and it gave me BPH which required more medication. Also you have to remember to take your shots with you if you go anywhere or just to take them at all. It is not the honeymoon the ads say it is, but that said it can greatly improve your life if you are truly Low T. I think many in here would be harsh because quite honestly 500 is not low.

At 500's you are only going to find anti aging docs to treat you. libido and ED are funny things. Everyone seems to think it is a T based issue and then find out after going on T it is not. I would just stick with your current protocol. I am on T and feel exactly the same, sometimes insatiable appetite for the wife and other times just want to sleep. I also continued to have ED issues until they put me on daily Cialis for my BPH and never an ED issue since. Also I can take a leak more quickly now which oddly enough is just as important the older you get. More is not better with medication. You actually want to use as little as possible. Also don't focus so much on the lab numbers. I am guessing the difference you feel between your natural 500 and the Clomid 680 is more psychological.
