Hi guys, finally got approved so now I can share my first anavar cycle experience with you.

169cm
66kg
BF roughly 20%
Goal - drop bodyfat without sacrificing strength gains.
Plan - 5 days taper up, 6 weeks at 10mg, 5 days taper down. Then an 8 week break before repeating. Still deciding whether to keep my cut to when I'm on cycle and aim to maintain in between, or do my cut in one stretch, and finish my second cycle in a reverse diet.

Tapered up 3.3mg - 6.6mg - 10mg over the course of 5 days in week 1 (my splitter for some reason always chopped them in 3rds so I just went with that)

Sides - week 1 I had headaches when training the first few days, but they disappeared by the time I got up to 10mg. Now I'm getting horny as hell around 30min after taking, but I don't know if thats because I'm subconsciously thinking about it making me horny, or because I usually have an increased sex drive before my period anyway and thats due soon.

Macros - High days x3 2100kcal 180P/180C/73F Low days x4 1800kcal 180P/100C/75F

Training - 3 days on, 1 day off. Avg 2hrs strength for oly/power lifting followed by higher rep accessory work.

Currently in my first week at 10mg ED (morning and 10hrs later). I noticed my recovery time between lifts in training is improved, and I don't flag at the end so I can give 100% for a full 2 hours if needed. However I made adjustments to my macros the same time I upped to 10mg and my low carb days I'm noticeably less enthused to train. I'd usually expect that without the var so I don't know why I was surprised to notice it with.
Weights fluctuating but trending down. I have a few mega high cheat days coming up with Christmas so I'm just going to train hard and not worry if progress is slow. I'm not cutting towards anything so I have plenty of time.

Hi and Welcome!

My only suggestion right now would be to keep your dosing a little closer to 6-8hrs as var has a short half life (roughly 8 hrs). 10hrs is a bit too far out IMO

Today was the end of my first full week at 10mg ED and so far so good. With the combination of diet and training my body composition is changing; stomach is visibly leaner and shoulders looking much fuller, with weight trending down about 1lb per week. Managed to polish off half a jar of PB this evening though so I'm not helping myself! Ha!

I've been very tired the past few days but I'd put that down to it being the week before my period. I'm also PMSing like a motherfucker. In fact I'd say that both the levels of fatigue and irritability seem much greater than usual. I don't usually get bad PMS at all.

I'm toying with the idea of going a little higher and bumping up to 15mg daily - do you think I should wait a little longer or go right ahead since I'm not noticing any sides other than amplified PMS symptoms? Would the extra 5mg make much difference?

Nope, 2 hours total, including warm up.
30min warm up, 30-45min main lift or two, 30-45min accessory.
I won't list my warm up but I might do
5x2 hang snatch at 80%
4x3 snatch pulls at 90% of snatch
5x5 Squats
5x5 Military press
4x8-10 Tricep push downs
Ab work

If my bf is training I'll sometimes jump in and do whatever he's doing instead of my accessory work as I like learning from him about what he's doing.

My wife got pms very bad on var. and next time she was due she missed it and her regular schedule got thrown off.

Ok got it. A lot of volume and training time but doable at your age. 2 hours for the main lift had me a bit worried!

Alrighty so I haven't updated in a little while but things were hectic over Christmas.
Any form of diet went well and truly out the window, which I'm not surprised by or even too bothered by to be honest - I kept to my training schedule and thats more important.
Up to 20mg ED now with no sides, but thats as high as I'll go. I'll start to taper down again in a couple of weeks and stop the end of Jan.
I've PRed most of my lifts, which I was due to anyway following a structured strength cycle, but I definitely feel the difference in recovery.
I've also chucked my scales in the corner because they're doing my head in.

Good call on scales, are you happy in mirror and at the gym? And I doubt most health sane people stick to diets in the holiday. Keep up the hard work.
