I agree Beast, that is why in Arizona we are a "right to carry" state. We were open carry but it made some people uncomfortable and they would call the police with "there is a guy with a gun at the park" when really its a 60yr old couple feeding the ducks and he happen to be carrying.

Open carry is an interesting and generally bad situation. Open carry puts people/officers in a defensive quicker to react mood. People get ansy when they see open carry and most police in my belief, as a former military police and military intelligence officer, are not trained well enough in that situation. Shit tends to happen more often in open carry than necessary. I like concealed carry for that reason. As I do not have an effect on others just by them seeing that I carry.

Yeah I feel ya. Same here with open carry. Although a lot of places will just ask you to leave due to being uncomfortable. Which is ubsurd. Be afraid if the criminals carrying, not the serviceman that is just a law abiding citizen who not only has the right to carry but also earned his freedom.

I've had the police called on me a few times in restaurants by other customers. We have a strong gun rights lobby here that has done a great job of educating police, so I've never been seriously hassled when they showed up. Of course, if I were a young black man, or had been less than cooperative, I probably would have ended up in jail.. or the morgue.
