Help I’m hurt- thigh injury

    I guess I kinda over did on legs the other day and now I’m hurt. There could be something seriously wrong with my outside of my right thigh. The injury happen on Wednesday. I can’t put much pressure on my right leg and I’m limping around pretty bad. It hurts to bend it up or down, it knots up! It’s really red and really warm with a long raised patch about a foot long. There is no bruising at all?It’s really hard to stand up and sit down.

    On top of this my butt cheeks are sore as fuck from pip. Anyway I think the injury stemmed from moderately heavy squats and then doing pretty heavy / high volume leg presses.
    Anyone familiar with this type of injury?
    Any suggestions to help heal it?
    Sorry this was so long just trying to be descriptive. This sucks! :(

    Hoping this is just a strain but if you notice bruising in the area you need to go get that checked out fast as it can be a tear. I strained my right calf a few weeks back and backed off legs for a bit. Have you iced/heated the quad?

    There still is no bruising but it’s red and swollen. Seems to a little better today. I was on my feet for 9 hours last night and could barely walk when I got home from work.
    Hopefully it’s just a bad strain and nothing else’s. Thanks for your response.

    Just be careful for a few days and don't do heavy leg work. I've had a quad strain and that was when I slipped on ice one winter, and it sure did hurt for a while but lucky no tear. Took roughly 6-10 days for the pain to ease enough for me.

    Ice treatments and rest. Wrapping the leg will help you get through the day.

    Thanks for your feedback guys. I’ve been icing it and taking Advil. The swelling has gone down a little but I’m still limping around. I took the last two days off. Today was supposed to leg day but that’s not going to happen. I was thinking about just going in and doing upper body. Though I have a long night ahead of me and maybe it would be a better idea to just rest again, I’m torn!!

    I’ve not had an injury like that, I’ve had strains before just not in the quad. But each one I can remember a small pop feeling, or an “oh fuck” moment like something was tweaked. I’d rest up the whole weekend and if it’s not significantly better by Monday, try to get it checked out first thing. Sorry to hear about your misfortune brother, hope it’s something minor.

  12. Injuries suck on blast, he’ll they suck in general. As mentioned earlier Ice, elevate, Motrin and rest. A little soaking in epsom salt never hurts either. I’ve had my share of groin injuries in my earlier days and this did wonders for getting me back into the game.

    Rest up, don’t push it too hard or you could aggregate it even more. I’d give it a week and if things aren’t better I’d have it checked out.

    Thank you so much for all the advice guys.
    Today was my third day off from the gym and I’m not really cool with that but it’s for the best. I know you guys are not dr’s but everything you have all said is spot on!!
    I’m guessing I’m lucky there isn’t any discoloration or visible bruising.
    Perhaps it’s just a really bad strain?
    Anyways you guys are awesome!!

    495B95F1-786A-446E-9168-AACD63C85AC3.png Just got done bartending a super crazy 10 hr shift! I can barely walk and it more swollen then ever and extremely red and hot. Still no bruising? I have idea what’s going on so I’m kinda worried. Do any of you guys know if these symptoms are similar to a severely strained quad/thigh? The pain runs straight up the side of my thigh up to my rear hamstring? I’m not sure if a doctor could even do anything besides give me pain killers. Fuck ME!!

    I've torn an adductor and had an avulsion fracture (tfl). Neither of them looked like that. The adductor had tons of bruising down to my ankle and the tfl has essentially ruined me squat but no redness or bruising. Just an insanely tight hip from it.

    That first pic is low light but that red dark spot up and to the left of my knee cap is ground zero.

    I hope everything healed up for you. That sounds painful. I guess it is a little bruised when when I look closer at the pictures. I’m four weeks into a blast at now I might have to call it.

    You prob have a little strain or minor tear. Rest my friend. Live to fight another day.

    I'm as good as I'm going to be. My lower half is falling apart before the adductor or hip. Learn to work around the issues type of thing. You know?

    Rest up dude, you'll be back in action soon.

    Screenshot_20180624-081043.png Ive used this for strains and I feel like it helped me. Rub that leg down with this stuff and wrap it up good. All i got besides maybe find some anti inflammatory to take.
