    Hello
    I am trying to understand the strength and dosing of hcg.We use insulin syringes which are marked in IU(international units) for insulin.When using for Hcg there is different strengths,i use 3500iu Hcg(3500iu per so many ml?) Dr john , and others have 10,000iu Hcg.I know the current protocal for injecting,250iu the two days before inj. test.So how much is 250iu Hcg3500iu in a 1ml insulin syringe?

    Dave,

    If your using a 100IU insulin syringe (1mL), each unit is 35iu.

    35iu x 100IU units = 3,500iu of hcg. So to get close to 250IU, draw up around 7IU. * 35 x 7= 245*

    When mixed up, what is the volume of your 3500IU hcg? If your HCG came the way that I am used to, you were given the powder in a vial and you had to add in water (preferably bacteriostatic water). How much water (what volume) did you use to mix with the powder?

    I add 4ml bacteriostatic water per vile.

    Wait till someone checks my math before you rely on this post to inject.

    If you mixed in 4ml of water with your 3500IU of hcg, the volume will be nearly the same or exactly the same as the water that you added. I am almost certain that the volume will be exactly the same as the water that you added, because the HCG will be in suspension and will not add to the volume.

    With that in mind and if you are wanting to inject 250IU -

    (250IU/3500IU)x4ml=.29ml

    So if you inject .29ml you will be injecting 250IU.

    Yep this is what I got best to get a 1ml needle I use 27g 1ml x 1/2"lg. needle and shoot into my thigh. I don't like the way it feels doing subQ.

    Dave originally you said how many IU on an insulin syringe would equal 1mL containing 3500iu of hcg. Now your saying you have powder in a vial (composed of 3500iuhcg) then adding 4mL to the vial. You need to make up your mind.

    If the later is your case:

    4ml= 3500iu
    2ml= 1750iu
    1ml= 875iu

    Using a 1mL (100unit) insulin syringe, 100IU= 875iu of hCG.

    So that is 8.75iu of hCG per 1IU on the insulin syringe.

    So to get 250iu of hCG, you divide 250iu by 8.75

    250iu/8.75iu = 28.57 or round off to 29IU on the insulin syringe.

    Enjoy

    Thank you everyone for your help in understanding all of this.On the package it says drug and strength,Chorionic Gonadotropin 3,500iu,Reconstiute with 4ml bacteriostatic water.Inject 1ml sub Q every week day 5.I use an 1ml ins. syringe 29ga 1/2".This is what i have been doing since feb of this year.Every thing was great for a few mos. then my blood work started to come back high,as i started to research more (thanks to this site!!) i started to realise that my hcg dose was rather high,so that started me on the path to trying to learn the proper dosing,but i was confused by the different strengths of Hcg available and calculating the proper amount to draw.BTW i contacted my drs.office and the nurse said that is the dose that they give to everyone!
    Here is my last blood work on sept. any other thoughts would be appretiated.

    So that would equal to 875iu of hcg every 5 days then. I will send you some studies in PM when time allows on proper dosages. I have seen others on this site advocate 5000-10000iu a week, which is downright ridiculous.

    Your blood is on the thick side did you drink at least 16oz of water before the test. If not this can make it look high. Still I would give some blood to the red cross you will feel better. Your E2 is dam high do you get morning wood can you can sex. When mine was this high it killed my sex life and this was for 10 yrs. before I figured it out. Do the arimidex for 4 to 6 weeks and then get your E2 tested Arimidex is strong and will bring you down to low. Being to low is just as bad as to high. I feel your lucky you did not burn out your tesits on this high a dose of hcg. That dose if for fertility and not done for a long time. If you cut back on the dose of HCG your E2 will come down faster. If you don't get morning wood as your E2 comes down it will come back and be so strong it will wake you up. This means your at the right level for you body. I use this as a gauge to not go to low. If my morning wood stops I know my E2 went down to low. So watch for this if you find this stops then stop the Arimidex until it comes back that day go back on the arimidex but do .25mg. or 1/4 of a 1mg. pill every 3 days keep doing this until you find the right dose. Between doing this gauge and blood work you can keep your E2 in check. I think you will find when you have your E2 in check your labs are going to get much better.

    How can you tell through blood? I thought it was Urea/Creatanine ratio.

    I gave blood,they needed red blood cells most ,so i got that taken care of.I went a little to far on the Arimadex so now i will quit taking it for a little while untill morning wood,and libido come back strong.I quit the hcg for a week and started a lower dose(guessed at the time) and now i can tell my testes are getting firmer again YEA!!! If it wasn,t for this board i would have had a harder time smoothing out my TRT.When i get to talk to my Dr. i will have plenty of material to cover with him. BTW my Dr.is part of the anti ageing asociation,he should know better than these high doses! Mabe he will learn a lot at the convention in Vegas this weekend,or i will have to educate him myself!

    I have never used HCG and never had it in my hand.
    But I am getting ready for it, so I am collecting information.
    I am loking at 30 gauge insuline needles.
    On the package it says
    1/2cc for 50 units or less
    1/2"(12.7 mm) lenght needle
    30 gauge needle
    The syringe is marked 10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50
    there are 5 marks in between, so I can measure exactly, say 25,26,27,28,29,30
    I can also get aproximately half units.
    When using (those) needles for HCG I worry only about volume that I want to inject.
    So, I need to figure volume of my 250 IU of HCG
    but depending on amount of bacteriostatic water that I use
    the solution density is variable and so is volume of my shots.
    To figure out that volume I need to know amount (3500 IU) of HCG powder
    and volume (4 mL) of water that I am using.
    The solution's volume will be equal to initial volume of water that I used,
    ie; powder do not increase volume of solution.
    The volume of 250 IU of HCG
    4*250/3500=0.2857 mL or 28.57 units as marked on syringe
    =============================================================
    That volume will fit in my 1/2cc syringe
    and will take little over 1/4 of your's bigger 1cc syringe.
    I thought I seen good thread on this topic.
    Please post a link

    What is the smallest needle suitable for HCG injections?
    I will most likely be using Novarel
    http://www.ferringusa.com/fertility_products/insert_novarel.htm#10
    I see that it is supplied 10,000 USP Units per vial (NDC 55566-1501-0).
    I guess it is the same as 10000 IU
    Not sure about water.
    What will be the smallest amount of water that is still convenient to use?

    I use Novarel and it comes as a "kit" with the 10,000IU of powder in one vial and bacteriostatic water in another vial. The instructions say to mix 10ml of the water into the powder vial. This makes the math very easy, since with this ratio - 10ml=10,000IU - 1ml=1000IU - .25ml=250IU.

    10000/250=40 doses 250 IU each
    that should last 20 weeks
    Is there any problem due to long term storage?
    O should one throw away what remains, say after 10 weeks or 5 weeks?
    How much Novarel cost?
    How many 250IU doses one should take when on daily T cream or gel?
    .

    I you can buy it at Wal-Mart or Wal-Greens for about $45 to $55.00. My novarel lasts only 30days after that it does very little.

    It's what my Dr. showed me a long time ago on a blood test about the same things were high. He told me this was because I was dehydrated and need to drink water before doing blood tests. Dr. marianco says the same thing is one of his posts.
