IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Hidetada Yamagishi Arrested

IFBB pro bodybuilder Hidetada Yamagishi and steroid charges

IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Hidetada Yamagishi was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after arriving from Narita Airport (Tokyo) on December 8, 2007. Hide recently spent five weeks in his home country of Japan. He is currently being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Saugus, California on $180,000 bond. He will have a court date on January 8, 2008 at Los Angeles Municipal Court.

Contrary to what has been reported elsewhere, he is unlikely to post bail. Since U.S. authorities have placed an immigration hold on Hidetada Yamagishi, if he does post bail, he will immediately be taken into federal custody until the conclusion of his legal proceeding. Hide will then be turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and placed in deportation proceedings.

This most certainly means he will not compete at the 2008 Ironman Pro Invitational or the 2008 Arnold Classic. Hidetada’s name has already been removed from the official Arnold Classic competitor’s list.

Holy shit, that's a bit high.

I wonder what it was and why he felt the need to actually carry it with him rather then have it mailed or just find more in the US. Sad.

You can probably guess the answer to that. Mailed is a good way to lose your gear to US customs, they've gotten much better... and finding more in the US, even for the pro's is very difficult nowadays.

There was a recent interview in the current MuscleMag issue where King kamali interviews 3-4 pro BB'ers anonymously. They all felt if the ORD busts had occurred earlier in the year, instead of at the end of the BB'ing season, all US based BB'ers would have been totally screwed for the Olympia.

This is the same thing I have seen in my BB'ing experiences around SoCal. There is no "secret" source the top amateurs and Pro's have access to. They pretty much rely on the same sources that you used to see openly advertising. There are some pro's who get human grade stuff handed to them. The vast majority of Pro's and almost all amateurs scrounge around for anabolics the same as everybody else.

From what I'm hearing locally, the only thing ORD has done for SoCal BB'ers, at every level, is force them back to the days of pre-internet and they and/or their friends are now back to driving into Mexico and buying up product there. I've heard Rosarita mentioned and people are going even further South, the TJ area isn't trusted. The reason many of them have their smaller friends do it is customs/border agents will often have BB'er type guys pulled over for a physical inspection. So it's not too smart for a large guy to try to bring stuff back across but other than that, it's as easy as pie.

Best regards,

According to FlexOnline, visitors report that Hide is in good spirits - eating tuna and hard boiled eggs, and doing pushups/situps, and getting along well with the jail guards.

I didn't think Pro's would be scrounging around like us commoners but that's good to know.
You mean some of them got smart and are sending other people to but gear for them. Maybe some millionaire baseball players could have thought of that!

how true how true!

i wonder if jay, vic, dexter, all those guys would have placed if ORD occured earlier in the season. im sure many pros would have been out of the Mr.O because of an 'injury' :D

Yes, I'm sure the old injury excuse could start popping up as we're only a few months from the first shows of the season. However, ORD is now old enough that most competitive BB'ers have had enough time to get new sources lined up. I know GH is still tough to get and some peptides are tough, but most anabolics can either be gotten from Mexico or Under, Under, Underground labs that are still open or newly operating. Big time referrals are needed to get into these labs but it's possible. There's also the international guys but mostly I hear stories about long delays and letters instead of goodies. Stuff still is getting through but it's no longer a sure thing.

You have to remember the average pro barely makes enough money from BB'ing to pay for rent, food and cycles. The pro's who have the contracts are the elite and there are 10 pros who have no or a minimal contract for every 1 who has the big time contract.

It's even worse for top amateurs. Of the 200-250 upper level, national caliber amateur BB'ers, only a handful make any money at all from BB'ing endorsements or contracts. Another very small handful make decent money from their job while concurrently BB'ing at a high level. The majority must work as trainers, bouncers, whatever jobs they can work at while putting BB'ing first.

You may not want to believe it but many national level amateurs and 2nd/3rd level pro's are so desperate for money they, men and women, whore themselves out. A little talked about but sad and true fact of life for some.

Best regards,
MaxRep
