Weightlifting Shoes

Alright bros, I need your help on this matter.

I'm looking to pick up a pair of weightlifting shoes, a raised heel has become a must for me when squatting and I am wondering what you guys recommend.

For the past few months I have been Front squatting with my heels placed on a single 45lb plate (narrow stance). The raised heels have given me incredible mobility and has improved my flexibility from what I can tell. My depth is pretty much maxed out on every rep and by torso is in proper upright position the whole time.

If I were to squat without the plate underneath me, I notice that my upper body stays much less upright when I become heavily fatigued.

This has worked fine for me so far, but for the sake of comfort and ease I would like to just ditch squatting on a plate and get some proper shoes. Ideally something with a really elevated heel.

What do you guys all lift in and what do you recommend for me?

The pair I was looking at getting are the Risto Olimpico's, anyone have any thoughts on this particular brand?

Haha, I know that situation all too well, join the club lol.

Plates underneath heels works amazingly well and even better it doesn't cost anything, but I'm sure actually having a pair of lifting shoes provides slightly more mechanical advantages and probably works a little bit better too.

If you can find them, Adidas Adistars. But they are next to impossible to find and if you do they are more than likely slightly used.

Anyway, next best thing is Nike Romaleos of course. All of China's gold medalists can't be wrong.

Adistars seem really good but I highly doubt I will be able to find a pair brand new, and even If I could they are pretty expensive compared to some other brands / makes. Romaleos look awesome, didn't know all the Chinese competitors used them! The Risto's are a good price point so that was my original choice, but some of these other ones look like good options too...thanks for the input!

I thought the Chinese wore Do-Win.

It's really a battle between Adidas Adipower and Nike Romaleos. I went with the Adidas this time, I like the heavy soles and leather construction. Romaleos are lighter, more flexible and synthetic.

Adidas also sells the Powerlift, which is way cheaper. I don't known how well they hold, I'm only aware of their existence.

Same issue with me @weighted chinup I got Adidas powerlift I think it is. Not a huge lift and little compression. It's helped with mobility in my right knee after an old injury.
Looked everywhere for them, then found em cheapest and right away on Adidas.co m. For like $90 plus shipping

I read a review somewhere that the nikes have the highest heel. Plus the dual straps which everyone is copying.

I appreciate all of you giving your input and helping me out here :)

It looks like I will end up deciding with either the Romaleos or possibly the Adipower, seems like these are two of the most reputable pairs readily available right now. I gotta see what the heel height is on these, if the Romaleos have the highest then that makes things a lot simpler for me.
