Unemployment

I'm a roofer and Im currently sitting on my ass collecting unemployment without having to look for work any of that shit. What i did was sign up for a $400 class community college so I can work but currently Im in training and unable to work lol. Also have return to work date since which was just some random day I came up with assuming season starts back up. having a return to work date automatically gets you out of having to apply places.

Yeah, I'm trying hard not to do that since it's family, but I'm feeling pretty resentful about all this. Regardless, I'm not going to wash dishes part time for minimum wage. That wouldn't begin to pay my bills.

So I'm being laid off after today. Business has been slow, so my position here is being eliminated to save money. Been here 16-17 months full time. They're also saying I can be reduced to minimum wage and part time and take a permanent low level position starting next week. From an online unemployment calculator I'd be better off on unemployment money wise and obviously time wise while looking for another job. Working part time or for minimum wage really isn't an option for me, neither is drawing unemployment for very long.

My question is can I be denied unemployment for not taking this part time minimum wage position? Is this like a loophole where they can basically force you out without paying unemployment?

The Democrats favor a living wage The republicans say you get paid as low a wage as they can get away with paying you. The republicans don't care if you and your family have food to eat when life gives you a slap in the face. They want to eliminate food subsidies, saying you find your own food. The Democrats want to provide a safety net so in your hard times you have the basics. The republicans call it an entitlement, Guess what your parents and grandparents offered their lives to pass on a country that took care of it's own. The republicans say paying tax is wrong. They forget that the freedom they enjoy to make money in America isn't free. They think that donating a million bucks to vets, like the orangeman did settles the score. Fuck them straight up their self centered and selfish assholes and think about how far they could go without the sacrifices made by those that came before them.

America does well when you do well brother. I hope you can find assistance when you need it. You are not a deadbeat loser like their Republicans want to paint a man or woman when he or she is down and needs help.

Find you something you can learn to do by working. Be a helper of some sort to learn. Where I work I have people that are hired just to help me and do what I tell them but the more they learn to do theirself they get higher pay. They usually start out at 9-10/hr and then end up at 13-14/hr the more they learn to do theirselves while being under me (that's not bad money in my state) once they get to where they can figure out stuff on their own their pay is based on quality of work and ability to do stuff. I'm pretty much the person over everything where I work so I don't see my pay going up drastically any more but I started out at the bottom and now I'm comfortable with what I'm making. Getting to where I'm at now only took about 3 years for me but I'm pretty damn good at what I do.
