Here is the thing about sleep apnea that many people won't tell you. Your tongue gets thicker since it falls back into your throat when you stop breathing and then constricts again to push itself forward. This doesn't reverse as you lose weight, so your airway doesn't really improve much, just the efficiency of oxygen since you're using it better by being more fit. But I don't think it would reverse sleep apnea with that many episodes an hour.
