It’s seems more logical to make this kind of announcement in your own thread where customers are already following and getting notifications for new post instead of starting a new thread they may never see.maybe it get buried and more of them would see it as its own topic?

I am just thinking maybe things get buried in the large threads (I know it happens in my thread). But seeing that title on its own thread makes it jump out. But I see what you mean and I would just say post the sale in both threads to have a win-win
