I never got a lot of matches, but I did get matched with extremely attractive woman for most of the matches i got.
Then it always ends in one of two ways: Either I introduce myself and say hi and never get a reply, or either I talk to the girl up to the point of asking her out, to which she says yes, and when we are in the middle of the details for the meeting place she stops talking.
And why would they do this if they were there to actually date?
Answer is, they wouldn’t, and they aren’t there to date, they are just “playing” tinder like it’s a game.

Jesus... The problem with me is exactly that I’m not able to lower my standards. I have tried it but it just doesn’t work.
I’m not saying I only date top models, far from it, but I want a girl with a cute face and a nice body.
