Peoples training in the gym. How often do u see people actually train hard

i just see most people in the gym do wild shit.

Easily squatting weight that should be higher, not breathing heavily after one set, doing full body workouts, not literally trying to practically tear their muscle in 8 reps, focusing way too much on perfect form, not pushing themselves, doing 1 set on leg press then moving to flys and shoulders and back

Like I’m not perfect at training, but I seriously try to hurt my muscles on each set and I see so many guys with such shit intensity, I’m just like WHY. Ur body is trying to adapt to heavy load and does so by increasing mass and strength? These little half assed sets are doing nothing. I can rep high weight on leg extensions but I can also take the low weight and make it burn too.

Idk what I’m asking here, but so many people are lacking in the intensity department. Maybe I just get a rush from being in the gym like a dopamine rush so it’s extremely effective because I get huge endorphin rush from destroying myself.

But I start the phone timer right after my set for 3 minutes and go back at it. It’s not that complicated

Very few in my gym are in there pushing. Most are just going through the motions and doing the same routine with the same weight everyday. I’ve seen these same people for years in my gym and they still look the same, no changes to their physique.
I guess getting in the gym and at least moving around some is better than riding the couch.

Moved to a powerlifting gym, lots of the folks there competing, mostly in IPF related federations, and they train hard, although PL style, the few 8 reps sets are usually for light days and done rather easily. Shorter sets are a different matter
In commercial gyms it s a different style, people training with various degrees of seriousness and goals. Yet I always see a few gals and guys looking like they ve put in some serious workwork

Not too many guys train hard . I see some girls they really push hard the cardio .
Most guys just playing with there phone ( and the mirror ) ...
I really miss the old gym aura ( loud music , no cell phones , heavy trainings around )

I go to LA fitness and the women do seem to train harder than the men.

Some people are hitting a milestone by just getting to the gym. Some never even make it into gym clothes, nevermind execute some semblance of a workout plan. Some people have existing ailments that may not be totally distinguishable to the naked eye which prevent them from going hard. Judging people and their intensity is a strange thing to do when you're guessing as to why they aren't as hardcore as others may be.

Now, obviously that last paragraph doesn't describe all people in the gym. We all know of some middle age guy that thinks he's liked by everyone, but really only has a few friends that essentially tolerate him. You know, the type of guy that spends close to, if not an entire decade haunting teenage boys on bodybuilding websites and has had the police investigate him when a local child went missing. Yeah, that guy. Oh Jesus, I just described @MindlessWork

I’m not judging old fat people im judging people in their 20s .

I’m more pissed of the fact that they aren’t going to make any sort of progress. In the past couple weeks every single person I’ve seen. EVERY. Is doing some shit they could be doing heavier and that’s badically all exercises. I don’t care if u squat one plate as long as it’s ur peak intensity. But squatting 90 lbs when u can clearly add 50 lbs irritates me.

I push it til I can barely get the last rep or two because otherwise I won’t grow. Some s these people could do 20 reps when they’re doing 8. I could go up and say I’ll give u twenty bucks to do 10 more and they could do it

Now I agree I’m being judgemental when I bitch about people going from flys to curls but like every dude I’ve seen recently comes and does full body and leaves. I hate full body. Too long, can’t have enough intensity/ volume when ur hitting ur entire body. In 1.5 hours. Unless ur rest times are low af and then ur basically doing cardio

Actually in my gym I think same . I see more hard working ( and nice physique ) girls than guys .

And the older folks they push hard - really respect them , they wants to feel good and healthy .

Many of 20's just play with their phone and try " catch " nice post or video for online shit , rather than train their ass off .

Actually whole body routines work just fine, at least for a while. Do Squat DL and Bench or close variation daily and you should grow in size and strength. Do 1 working set per exercise and you can add more exercises.
I systematically work like this when going back to the gym after a break, than move on more splited routines when going down around 3/5 in reps, as I find recovery hard (older guy here).
There are several full body powerlifting routines around

I’m sure it works for some. Guess it just doesn’t appeal to me
