Covid Lockdowns

It didn't really affect me at all. I went out and bought enough equipment to lift at home within a few days of the gyms closing. I still had to go to work every day like normal the whole time, so was pretty much business as usual for me.

I worked throughout the entire pandemic too coz I was classed as being an essential worker in an industry that the Government wouldn't put on a lockdown or offer any financial support towards employees staying at home and not working.

I was literally begging to stop working and stay at home with a 75% subsidised salary but I basically got told to fuck off and crack on coz I was needed to keep the country alive and provide essential services

Over that 2-3 year period though I actually started enjoying the world without having to see or deal with the human race much anymore but that's an exeprience not many will understand if you were living with lockdowns and stay at home orders.

I'd fuckin love for the world to be put back on lockdown again and this time make it permanent so I can go back to the freedoms I was enjoying during Covid. The world was literally a better place without humans wandering around in it every day :)

It's expensive as hell here, 1.8-2.0€ per liter (liter is about 0.26 US gallon, I think, I might be wrong though, I'm used to metric units). So you would pay 7.50usd for a gallon I think.

edit: forgot to mention it's for diesel, since most people drive diesel powered vehicles.

Fuel prices have gone totally crazy since the world fully opened up again for sure and other commodoties are now heading the same way (even food FFS).

During Covid I was paying £1.10 per litre and could fill a full tank for £75. This year, post lockdowns, I'm paying £1.80-£2.00 per litre and it costs me £125 for a full tank

Food prices are getting crazy too. I've actually switched to budget brands coz I just can't deal with the increase in my shopping bills. My regular single person weekly food bill during Covid used to be under £30 but buying the same foods now costs me over £50

The world is proper fucked up now after Covid rules were abolished....or maybe it's just a UK issue? I don't know.

Yeah, situation is pretty bad here too. All the prices you mentioned are the same, just in euros give or take 5%. My not so new bmw has an appetite of a crocodile too lol and it isn't exactly first class country either, so yeah life got more challenging lol, but I'm not gonna bitch too much, it is how it is, got to adapt and move on I guess.

Yeah, I'm an essential worker too. Truck driver delivering essential goods. I'm on nights, so my world wasn't changed much. It's already pretty peaceful without a lot of people wondering around getting in my way.

Drivers one of the most important quarantine saviors, shit was bad in 20 and 21, man... if not for drivers, there would be no food and other necessary products.

This is so true.

All those white vans, lorries, and HGVs that you hate so much on roads and motorways now coz they slow you down in your fancy faster cars....are all driven by people who kept you alive and kept goods moving around the country during Covid lockdowns while you were sat at home in comfort complaining coz you couldn't go to the pub or the gym.

True, but here we mostly hate unmarked cop cars that slow you down, provoke and record video on you breaking the rules, not white vans lol.

p.s they're not all white here.

In my area it’s $4.79 for regular and about $5.59 for diesel. Some parts of the country are more for both. I feel for you guys and the Canadians.

Madness some is going on with the prices of gasoline and diesel.

Nobody talks about Covid much anymore and IMO that's a good thing coz it was such an emotional time for the whole world and caused so many problems within society as different opinions emerged from those who followed the rules for safety and those who thought it was all just a consipracy theory and began their rebellions against Governments.

This thread ISN'T about all that though coz everyone is free to do whatever they want now and keep taking precations, or not, but looking back on it all in a slightly bizarre way did you enjoy life more in lockdowns and could've lived the rest of your life like that if so many industries weren't affected or are you just glad to be almost back to living the same life as normal before Covid?
Seems that the vaccines are not as effective against the new strains, which also seem les dangerous, but still keep many of those most at risk from serious illness.

No doubt in my mind that many people recieved a Darwin award who would still be alive if they had taken good advice.

Are vaccines generally effective in terms of covid? It seems to me that this is just a scam, because after you make vaccines, there are a lot of side effects and people continue to get sick. Or I'm wrong?

The vaccines were never intended to be a total cure for Covid that would end the chances of people ever catching it or spreading the viruses. Their effect was just to help the body fight the virus and lessen the risk of serious illness or death and for the majority of people that wanted the shots they've proven to be benefecial to a degree.

This has been the same situation for most vaccines over the years as none of them offered 100% immunity against specific diseases and viruses. They just helped the body to fight back stronger and defend itself against highly damaging germs and viruses.

Of course there can be potential side effects in some people but that's true for all drugs and medicines and not just Covid vaccines. I found it quite comical and hypocritical that gear users and bodybuilders got so heated and vocal on all the forums about vaccines but at the same taking concotions of UGL steroids, hormones, research peptides, stims, and all shorts of other potentially dangerous and unnecessary drugs

Whether you agree or disagree with the vaccines the one thing that can't be denied or disputed is that it was good for the world that they appeared and were made available globally coz we would still all be living with lockdowns and stay at home orders now if the vaccines weren't created and the world would've grinded to a halt with much more serious financial devastation than we are trying to recover from now in 2022..

They do seem to be less effective than they were against early strains. Fortunately these new strains seem to be less dangerous unless a person is using drugs to supress the immune system or has serious health problems. In that case they are sol.

As far as the pandemic being a scam several hundred thousand would agree but they are now dead.

You're a sensationalist.

Look at the reporting procedures and tell me that COVID killed hundreds of thousands. You cannot sit here and pretend to believe in all of the hysteria. You are buying into it because daddy govt and it's MSM lap dog have told you to.

Go to the CDC website and find the reporting procedures. A doctor can say COVID is the cause of death without even testing for COVID. Look at what the commissioner of the Illinois department of health said about reporting COVID deaths. She very specifically states that even if the cause of death is clearly something other than COVID, it will still be counted as a COVID death if they test positive for COVID.

Literally everything you spew on this forum is, at best, a terrible attempt at a joke, and at worst, intentionally misrepresenting information to willfully lead others into believing something untrue.

Believe what you want. At this point I doubt there is anything that anyone could say to change your mind. I stopped arguing this point months ago.

I'm a sensationalist and you're a fucking moron.

Nail on head. Spot on and correct Bro.

I'm not getting dragged too far into a Covid vaccine debate though coz "those types of anti-vaxxers blah blah" are now so so so very very very boring and repetitive that they ain't even worth a minute of my time.

The thread is drifting wildy off topic even though I specifically stated in the original post that this was not a Covid discussion.

I'm just fucking tired. My wife is a respiratory therapist. It's just like every big talking motherfucker until he has a gun to his head and has no hope of a merciful end.

I hear ya bro. Life's too short to bang your head against brick walls and other peoples opinions are not worth getting too stressed about ;)

I say what I think, and maybe have a quick conversation with someone if the points they make are valid and they manage to speak to me respectfully, but I don't hang around for long in discussions when things turn ugly or get pointless ;)

It's more than just covid. Today there is an attack on reality. If you don't like it create your own. You can't argue with these people.

True bro. Social media is as much of a curse as it is a cure.

You can literally make gullible people believe anything you say with enough followers behind you
