How are everyone's powerlifting journeys doing?

I'm thinking of doing a bench only meet later this year. The hip injury has pretty much brought my powerlifting journey to a halt the last couple years though. I'm leaner than I've ever been right now and been doing some bodybuilding stuff since I can't do any heavy lower body work.

I just did my second meet on Saturday at Matt "Janea" Kroc's gym. Think I'm gonna try to do an apf meet at 198 this fall

i started to get some momentum after my first meet then tweaked my back. Went in for a mri and found a bulge l5 s1 sitting against the nerve root. So Im running a cut and doing bb shit. I started taking 3iu of gh a day and that has helped my back tremendously. Still cant heavy squat or DL. Im going to periodically try to get back into lifting heavy to test and as soon as I dont feel like im gonna throw it out again Im gonna go right back to it! So now i have a back injury and poor genetics! Fuck it, run it

Well I have a friend who's about to compete in the North American Pro's Masters soon if that counts LOL Get this he competes in 198 a few inches shorter than me about 5'6 I think - Benches 405 for 9 and he is completely NATURAL!!! Never touched a steroid in his life and is completely against them. Trained non stop for 20 years and only ever missed a weeks training. Genetics of a Tank mind.

Haven’t been on the board in a while. But I’m still here just chugging along, competed back in November and have plans to compete again in feb 2023. Lots of time for growth.

Unfortunately, due to covid, now I’m just getting on my feet, I still have acute thrombophlebitis, so I’m trying to return to active training.

Currently training to bench at a uspa meet in September...looking to go 308 at 220 in 60-64 raw...I did a 275x1 paused a few weeks ago pretty easy...
The last meet i did I went for 303 my last attempt and missed it. I was so bummed

I envy such data, honestly I hardly imagine natural so much bench press. You have a very cool friend.
