How can it be fully encrypted to any mailbox non-Proton? Proton uses TLS opportunistically, meaning it will fall back to unencrypted if the destination mail server doesn't support it. Only way to force it is to use the password option.

Ditto this - TLS is really just hop-by-hop encryption, not end-to-end. Unless we're requiring PGP, this is no different from using a Gmail box.

Using a Proton mailbox was mainly useful for people who were also using Proton mailboxes so the mail never had to leave that single provider, who has certain stated policies for sharing your email and certain jurisdictional protections. (Not that I trust any of that either.) Looks like primalpharma.io is a custom domain hosted by Tutanota, so Proton mailbox -> Tutanota mailbox is just plain old SMTP+TLS. Presumably can't be intercepted in transit without somebody getting a fake Tutanota cert issued from some willing trusted CA (and that certainly happens) but not "end to end" encrypted.
