Sex Hormone Binding Globulin [SHBG]

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

What are the benefits you get on propionate? Libido/ Mood/Wood/energy?

Also, do you know your current shbg level?

Yes - energy/mood/libido/morning wood and in that order. (morning wood only when E2 is dialed in). At the current time I believe I am a bit low.

Shbg was taken at the same time as the previously mentioned lab and was 8 (10-50)

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

Just curious - do you know the origin of your shbg? Are you overweight? Insulin resistant?
In other words, did you try to correct your shbg?

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

Doc states that it's most likely metabolic syndrome.

Why not try metformin, then? It could at least alleviate the E2 problems since SHBG will be normal.

I don't seem to have insulin resistance, but I have reactive hypoglycemia which indicates that I have something wrong with blood sugar. It could be /caused/ by low SHBG.

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

How do you know SHBG will be normal? Are there any people who were able normalize SHBG with Metformin?

Thanks but I don't believe that would be an option since my glucose is high normal and I typically don't have an E2 problem.

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

I am a Low SHBG too with poor (fluctuant) results with TRT: Androgel, Testim and now Testoviron Depot (250mg) e15d. Even with arimidex.

I would like to test the "Blazerone Protocol", but i don't know any testosterone propionate formula. I call a compound pharmacy but they told me that only hospital pharmacys have the technology to compound injectables.
The objetive was to compound small 15mg injections of testosterone propionate.
Blazerone, could explain to us how you do / get your propionate testosterone ?

Thank you.

I will PM you the pharmacy that I use.

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

Are these pharmacies in the United States and is it possible to order from Europe ?

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

Fair warning: I do not believe in this protocol.

Among the reasons that this sounds like a red herring:
- Smaller, daily doses of testosterone are already available in the form of Androgel, Testim, Andromen Forte, Axiron and Striant. These do not seem to work for men with low SHBG.
- Androgel probably would have worked for Blazerone if it were not for absorption problems.
- Blazerone is obese, over 50 and probably has metabolic syndrome. TRT related issues could stem from excess aromatase activity or metabolic syndrome.

Damn- You seem to know more about me than I do. Although I disagree with you.

Propionate has worked for many others with low shbg, not just this old fat fuck.

By-the-way - Obese I am not. Over weight I will give you.

Who else has it worked for? If it's a possible cure, it must be a pretty well kept secret, because I've been searching for such a possible cure for over a decade, and I know there are many other low SHBG men doing the same, and none that I know of have ever tried this.

I'm not going to waist my time arguing. I just want to share my experiences.

Now - I'm not saying this is the "cure" but it was for me and others.

If you've been struggling with TRT and have low shbg or not; isn't trying something else worth a try or would you rather continue in your struggle?

I see that you state you work for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Maybe you could push them to produce propionate again.

I just did a quick search of 'propionate working with low shbg' and got several hits. Keep searching we're out there.

Re: Calling out the low SHBG guys

Guys, obviously its very hard to find the exact cause of the low SHBG and overall whether its a symptom or a cause, but unless its genetic it must be the result of an inflammation of some type due to the environmental factors we are exposed to. Thats why in the near future i am considering starting an anti-inflammatory diet (there are several books on this subject) as an attempt to heal my body from all the possible auto immune, chronic and inflammatory diseases. Does this seem reasonable ?

My SHBG was in the middle of the normal range before I started TRT while my TotalT was below normal. Once I started TRT, it immediately dropped below normal (13) and has stayed there ever since.

How many folks had low or low normal before TRT?
