Just talked to Dr. John about high E2 and SHBG.

Here is a cut & paste on what he told me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. John]Hormone assays should never be run without assessing binding globulins. An E2 of 20 is VERY high if SHBG is low.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I now feel I know what the problem is my SHBG is 22and lower most times range 7 - 50.

So now I feel I need more Arimidex then what I am doing.

My SHBG has come back between 18-24. Isnt it good to have low SHBG? it goes up with age.

Didnt you say before you felt better with E2 at 25? E2 has bone and brain protecting effects but whatever you feel better at

Phil,

You need to get yourself on a regimen where your body is regulating these levels naturally. You, more than anyone, knows how difficult it is to determine the right dose and frequency of arimidex to feel good.

I don't know if this is possable I am betting I have had problems with E2 going back many yrs. Even when I was on the compunded creams. My Dr. is trying to figure this out now that we know I have a pituitary problem it's a new ball game. It sure would be nice to not have to take any of this crap. I get to the point where I am just dam sick of it all. Every time I think I have this under control something shows up and brings me back down. I some days think that I need to stop it all and start over. Just doing HCG to start.

Havent we learnt a lot since you last changed your regimen apart form the hcg.
Why not try pellets + zinc, cdg and DIM.

This is an interesting post Phil. Since i have a higher SHBG, i think it was around 39 (upper reference range was 44) last time i had it checked. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if my E2 did go a little bit above 30. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see my most recent labs.

This can be I am looking into this more and trying to Pick Dr. John's brain. Qustion about Armour when you went higher on the dose did your ever feel real hot and sweat a lot. I have been at 2.5 grains for 3 weeks not and I get mornings that I feel very hot and feel out of breath. I don't know if this happened when I switched to HC to what. My be Dr. John is right I need to do more Arimidex.

I would say when i went to 4 grains to 4.5 to 5 grains i got real hot at first for a few days but then my body adjusted. The only other time i got something similar was when i introduced the HC. Once again after a few days i was normal. I never got sweaty or short of breath. A few times i did feel a little anxiety start but its was nothing major. I will say i do like HC much better than the isocort though.

I think you might be right about needing more arimdex cuz of your SHBG being low. I just finished reading the threat over at the other site about it. This could also explain why i dont' need DIM and TMG that much even though my E2 was almost 30 last time i had it checked. I have had to actually take almost a whole week of of the DIM and TMG just to get some decent morning wood again finally this morning.

Well I think your right you SHBG is higher so you can have a higher level of E2. I don't know what my SHBG was before I got my E2 down I do know my Free T went way up when I got the E2 down. So I feel when I used Arimidex to get my e2 down I brought down my SHBG. So tomorrow I am going to try a higher dose of Arimidex to see how it goes. I do know one test my E2 was at 9 and I felt fine but my Dr. told me not to go below 20. Yet he did not know anything about high E2 until I got him to test mine. I have been on HC and 2.5 grams of armour for 3 weeks so I feel it's my E2. making me feel hot and the short of breath is the feeling anxiety.

When i first started HRT, my Dr. put me on some thyroid meds, they made my face feel real hot and the back of my neck would pour sweat, even when i went to bed,i would wake up in the middle of the night an my pillow would be soaked! When i asker the Dr. he said it was due to to high of Thyriod, i don't rememder if it was T3 or T4 or both.It took about a week to stablize again.I havn't taken any since, and the sweats went away.

Dave this can happen if you have low cortisol levels Dr. are not checking for low cortisol even though it's in there Dr.'s desk ref. book. If you don't make enough Cortisol and are put on thyroid meds it can kill you. This does not mean you can't take thyroid meds it just means you need to take cortisol with the thyroid med. Here is what happens read this link.

I am on HC I think my feeling hot is my higher E2 I took more Arimidex yesterday upped it to .5mgs. everyday and today I am fine not hot and sweating.

You say that you have problems with pituitary gland. What's exactly your problem? It doesn't have response on GnRH or it just doesn't produce enough of LH and FSH?

I think that I have another kind of problem. My testes don't produce enough testosterone in normal circumstances. When I say normal I mean that when I'm not taking nolva I don't get that much of LH to stimulate my Leydig cells to produce as many testosterone as it is naturally possible.

So my question is: Is it possible to go through nolva cycle and then discontinue its usage and have things as they are while being on nolva? Did you guys have such topic already here on this forum?

It can be you have a pituitary problem did you do steroids and this is why your using nolva in that case you can still be shut down. A good guy for this is Van-Man hook up with him or click on his nick and read his posts.

I'd be glad that my condition is from steroids. But, alas, it wasn't caused by that. Something else was the cause. Main suspects are sky high progesterone and prolactine and high cortisol. Prolactine slightly above upper bound and cortisol always touching the 'roof'. Every other hormone assay showed nothing out of ordinary.

Tnx for a tip. I'll look for that guy. I once tried to private marianco as he's one of the guys with some real medical experience but unfortunatelly he seems hard to get in contact with. :(
