7 weeks into my first program, 5x5. Goes for 12 weeks. The calculated 5rm is less than my original 1rm. Sticking with the program which does not do any singles.

Seems weird after 12 weeks of hard work I am lifting less than when I started. Hard work as in 25 squats EVERY session.

Not a lot in the tank after 25 squats adding more weight every session, it brutal.

How convert 5rm to 1rm theoretically?

Not breaking from program and testing myself.

In fact the more I learn I find how little importance experienced guys place on testing their 1rm during training, seems they will find out when they compete.

Other sports I have done competition day is easier than training, seems for strength it's the other way around??

Test 1rm every day, why train strength when you can test it and let everyone know how loud you can grunt! Novel concept doing it the other way around wonder if anyone here told you in the past to not try and max out every day. Google 1rm calculators and figure it out nobody cares to figure out your 1rm for you

Got it, so increasing your 5rm increases your 1rm by default ie don't have to train 1rm all the while.

Calculate Your One-Rep Max (1RM)

Increasing ANY rep max will increase your 1RM. You're getting stronger somewhere in the spectrum so ....

Testing your 1RM more than once month is going to lead to injury... Better to build your other rep maxes and to know you're still getting stronger..

When your 1RM becomes your warm up set you know you've done something lol...
