I was in a hurry today, and I forgot to get out all of the air in the syringe before I injected some HCG subcutaneously into my stomach. I only injected a little bit before I realized what I had done. My question is, What will be the effect of this? Am I likely to get an abcess? It seems like the injection site is much more sensitive today than it normally is.

The effect is nothing.. your body will just absorb it... A close friend of mine is an R.N. and she says that it would take well over 5 cc's of air injected directly into a vein to kill you... and IM probably won't do anything..so in other words..relax...NO worries

my doctor has told me the same thing... stop stressing.
Also do you see how quick nurses jab you with the needle and they have not got all the air out. I also have not had one nurse aspirate the needle when sticking it in me....
How weird, my buddy just told me today he saw that on a medical special. 5 cc's right into a vein. Yikes... that's a hell of a lot of air. My syringe is only 3 cc's, so I better get a bigger one.
