I know guys who have said not to even bother using anything but the whatman .2 but first of all these things are pricey. Has anyone found a decent alternative that doesn’t compromise quality? Also if I want to filter with a .45 first then maybe that filter could be a cheaper one? Thanks guys.

I've been using the Whatman 9913-2502 syringe filter. They're much cheaper than the gd/x. Unless you're looking for a bottletop filter.

Personally I would want my final filter to be the best quality.

China or bottle top filters.
Or both. 4$ each pack of 24.
Pvdf 0.22um

go for bottle top. You will, sooner or later.

Inconsiderably cheaper.

I THINK,that if you filter with a 45 once...the 22 will take more time to clog.
Not sure.

I would do it.
