Another anavar question.

First off, I apologize for another anavar question. I know it has been asked a lot, and I know it seems like a lot of people are gravitating to it lately due to the internet.

I recently asked about running a low dose (20mg) of Anavar for 4–6 weeks while I’m cutting, and I got lit up for it. Basically I was told that Anavar would do absolutely nothing for me during an aggressive cut and that I should just keep dropping weight and wait for a bulk.

For context, I’m 5'11", around 173 lbs (Currently), roughly 16% body fat. I’m down about 30 lbs so far, and I’m on testosterone at 200 mg a week. My plan has always been to cut to around 15% or lower before adding anything else, and that plan still stands. I want to be below 15% before adding anything else.

What threw me off is I always understood Anavar to be something people use during a cut specifically to help hold onto strength. I’m not expecting it to burn fat or anything. I was looking at it strictly for performance support while calories are lower.

So my question is — am I totally off base here? Is Anavar actually pointless at this stage unless you’re already shredded? Or did I just get dismiss them without understanding my goal?

I’m open to being wrong. I just want a real answer from people who’ve actually used it. I understand its for the "end" of a cut, but would it not help with strength while being in a big calorie deficit?

Yeah, I'm new

I think the issue people have with you taking it at all is that you’re only 173lbs at 5’11” and not even lean at that. You have a long way to go before you should be using anything
Fair, but wouldn't that depend on how much muscle I'm carrying? Honest question.

I apologize, I missed the interdiction post.

A 170 pound person with high bodyfat, who has just shed some excess bodyfat has no warranted need for anabolics

Loose the fat dude. You don't need drugs for that.

Spend this time learning what bloodwork to do, start testing frequently, improve your training, improve your understanding of nutrition... those are the things that will make a difference in your results.

Don't use racing fuel unless you are a racecar

Ok, thank you for the response.

But all I have been doing is learning my blood work from being on test, I have been training for close to a decade, and been coming off a bulk. I have a general idea of my nutrition.

If I don't need it, then I don't need it.

I was just under the impression it would help with strength as I continue on my journey to cut lower than 15%.

And I don't necessarily think I'm "fat" personally.

Most of these people are of the holier than thou type. Take what the haters say with a grain of salt.

It most certainly will help you keep strength/muscle while you’re cutting. If that will help you mentally to stay your course then go for it.

IMO, it's more about steering people to safer directions when there is still progress to be made before introducing things that can and will cause long term harm. That's a big part of this forum being what it is.
Understood and mostly agree but sometimes mentally it can be tough to stay the course and I know for myself it’s been a direction I chose to take that helped me get to my goals.

Basically this. Unless you compete, PEDs are for after you peak naturally.

I have been training for close to a decade

IF that's true and the best you can do is 173 lbs. at 5'11" then either your genetics suck or your training sucks. Which is it?

I have a general idea of my nutrition.

Not good enough for PEDs. Track everything.

And I don't necessarily think I'm "fat" personally.

You named yourself fatmonk lol. You can see the confusion, right?

My estimate could be wrong.

Put the argument to rest and post physique pics.
