ok guys i started taking fish oil on the advise offered in my other thread so now i am curious as to what are good sources of anti-oxidents and at what doses

I just read a study about whole food antioxidants.

The beans frosty is talking about are Red Kidney, Red beans, Black beans, and fava beans.

Also other fruits that are high in antioxidants are raspberries (ellagic acid), plums, prunes, apples, strawberries.

I use a grape juice that has 50mg of Grapeseed extract in it.
I use it post workout for my dextrose. Its langers brand and its found at shaws.

Green tea extract is also high in antioxidants, but green tea may not have enough polyphenols to exhibit and antioxidant effect.

And dont forget your R-Alpha Lipoic Acid
 
what do you guys know about that new pomegranite juice? the bottle claims it has the highest antioxidant effect compared to all the popular ones...
 
the only antioxidants that you need to worry about overdoing are man made ones that come in the pill form.

in general, color means antioxidants. green is chlorophyl, so green fruits arent too good.

blueberries, tomatoes, apples, carrots etc etc areall very good sourcesof antioxidants.

so is green and white tea. white even better then green, and it tastes better IMHO.

Rooibus tea is right up there with green tea, good fucking stuff. no caffiene though.

here are the major antioxidants: quercitin, beta carotine, lycopene, polyphenols, and one or 2 more i simply cant remember right now heh.
 
I love Cranberry Juice myself.

I have two servings of juice on my training days.
Morning I have a glass of Langer's Light Cranberry Juice (sweetened with splenda). Cranberry is a great kidney detoxifier, I feel from all of the gear I take, my kidneys could sure use some help.

PWO I have Langer's Grape Juice PLUS (the plus is grape seed extract which is an excellent antioxidant.)
also grape juice is loaded with dextrose which is my PWO carb of choice.

Each glass of juice is a daily serving of vitamin C too.

But ONLY with breakfast or PWO or else I can actually feel myself gain fat and sluggish
