Any of you training vets think of becoming trainers?

I was thinking of Gavin's great knowledge of training, and how he works one on one with people, and wondered if any of you like Hogg etc thought of personal training - I mean after all not many know half what you guys do, so it would help alot of people get off to a great start, plus I imagine you could charge great money... a woman I know who really knows her stuff charges $75 an hour - that is a fantastic wage!!

I think the going sentiment is that the life of a PT is shitty and only insane people want to do it.

Such a small percentage gets that type of pay. Also, so many that you will come into contact with will quit after a couple of months, or they wont want to work hard. Some will be so magazine biased that they wont sincerely listen to you. I have read too many posts about trainers who just hate their job. I am sure if you were one of the elite trainers it would b different. No doubt many on here could and would be great trainers if they desired.

JS has the best gig going, he teaches in his field, trains olympic athletes, and gets paid to do something he loves. He also has all the benefits of working for a university - healthcare, probably a 401k or some type of pension, COLA, etc. and can stay in the academic environment and talk at length with other very bright people in his field. That is valhalla as far as I am concerned.

I on the other hand have a totally different field and enjoy my work. My motivation is to buy a company within the next couple of years.....that is the only way to truly break out of the box in this day and age unless you are a senior exec at a large firm.

I'll take a job, Hogg. Can't say that I know fuck all about finances, but I can do anything I give a shot at. I only require $50/hr, 6 weeks paid vacation, 2 weeks sick time, a 2 hour paid lunch, a pension, full benefits and a hardbodied, even harder fake tittied secretary.

Sound like something you could pull off? :D

a job like that could almost pursuade me to move :D
