We picked up a water rower last year and i finally broke down and started using it. I am generally allergic to cardio, but i decided it was probably a good idea and started doing it last week. I am doing a powerlifting type workout m-squat/w-bench/f-deadlift and trying to find days to fit it in without screwing with leg day is a bit of a juggling act. I love the idea of getting cardio done in 10 minutes or so, but was wondering if anyone else had used one and could tell me how they fit it in. I have been trying to do the 2000m challenge 3 times a week around the weights just to be a bit more balanced and to keep from growing out of my current weight belt.

I have a concept 2 and i try and do exactly as you said but i only do 1000 meters as fast as possible 3 times a week in the morning on non lift days, well i was up until i started the PHAT program this week. So i would lift sunday, tuesday and thursday. do cardio on M/W/F and then on the afternoons of those days i would go for a long walk with my kids kind of as active recovery.

on saturday i would do a light recovery workout on the assualt bike. im talking very light where i could watch tv. i did this morning and night just to help with soreness.

i found the 2000m challenge too taxing and it was affecting my recovery so thats why i dropped it to 1000. honestly on a 1000 i woukd be wanting to throw up on days i pushed it.

I also use a concept two at my training facility, I hope to purchase one for the house this year. I mix it up in my circuit training, a little goes a long way if intensity is kept high

Yea i am not in danger of breaking any records with the 2000m challenge. There are guys doing it in 6-something. I thought i was kicking ass getting it down to 8. It will probably take me another week or two to see what i can do without interfering with the weights. Maybe i'll do the 2000 meter challenge on Saturday and cruise on the other two days.
