Backloading Slin Pins: My Method

Here's how I backload my insulin pins for the week. I know it's not 100% sterile in practice, but it's good enough that as long as you don't live in a garbage dump you'll be fine. If you wanted to be perfect, you could do this in front of a flow hood, however I've done it this way for over a year and haven't had a single issue.

One important thing to note: Don't backload more than a week or two's worth at a time. The solvents in our gear can eat away at the rubber stopper in the syringe and cause leaks along with injecting rubber into yourself. I only do a week at a time to be safe.

What you need:

2 cups
Slin Pin for each day you'll be injecting
Drawing syringe
Test/Gear
A couple iso wipes

Step 1: Wipe off the top of your vial, then lay the iso wipe flat on the table. If you're doing more than 3-4 pins, lay another one down

Step 2: Pull the stopper out of each syringe, and lay the rubber part of the stoppers on the iso wipes to keep them as sterile as possible. Place the open syringes into a cup.

Step 3: Take your dose for each pin and multiply by how many pins you've got. I'm pinning 0.09ml every day, so I drew up 0.63 ml total.

Step 4: Hold an open syringe in one hand while injecting your dose with the other hand. Couldn't hold the open one for the pic obviously. Measure units from the drawing syringe on top, since that's faster and more accurate than measuring from the receiving slin. Subtracting a 0.09ml dose form the drawing syringe, I inject until there's 0.54ml left.

Step 5: Place the slin pin you've filled into a second, empty cup. This is important to make sure you don't accidentally fill a syringe twice, learned from experience.

Step 6: If you're doing two or more different compounds, repeat steps 3-5 until everything's loaded up. Once it's all done, pick up a stopper and give it a second for the iso to evaporate. Pick up a syringe, and place the stopper just at the entrance, don't push too far or the oil will inject out the end. Flip it upside down, and once it's fallen push the stopper until you've gotten the air out.

Do this for all your syringes, and enjoy your Chinese bathtub chemicals.

Backloaded 4 slin pins today, a little less sterile since they have to have inside of the barrel exposed for a bit, but hopefully nothing major. Plus it saves time during week days when I don’t want to spend extra mins cleaning everything up, just take one out, pin and done.

How long do you guys store backloaded pins? Are you worried about any potential solvents interacting and possibly degrading the rubber part of the stopper over time?

Only time I'd worrie is if your gear had guaiacol eo or other super solvents.
Iv left T500 in a syringe for months as an experiment with standard ba/bb and I saw no visible degradation.

I do a week's worth at a time and never had any issues over last 3 years

Some of the oil ended up squirting out from the capped needle. Do you guys swab the needle before pinning? Just trying to see if I should since potentially bacteria could grow on that oil?

I only backload 1 syringe at a time and hold it horizontal to keep the oil away from the needle and replace the plunger asap or when using MCT oil it leaks out the needle like u experienced
Also reduces the time the barrels are exposed to air.

Maybe next time that’s what I’ll try. Not sure if it’ll work for backloading 0.3ml into a 0.5ml syringe since that is more than half of the barrel. A bit of a loss is ok with me though, I’m only concerned about possible bacterial growth, AAS is cheap lol.
