swale do you have a preferred site for injection, glute, thigh, delt?
is there any difference in absorption from these areas, is one better than the others?

I haven't seen this discussed much. But I did once read an article on t-mag that suggested that absorption varied quite a bit across these different injections sites. I'm interested in SWALE's experience as well.

I remember that on a different forum there was a link to a study that showed that delt injections produced significantly lower levels than glute injections.

If I recall it was the absorbtion RATE that screwed it up with the delts. Everything got absorbed just a bit slower cause of less bloodflow to the area compared to a larger muscle mass like the glute or quad.

The study that everyone refers to makes a point of stating that its results are to be considered significant only wrt arachis oil given that the oil vehicle can greatly effect absorbtion rates.

After reading a few articles i would think that the quad or glute is the best placle to inject......... prob because of the difference in blood flow.......... the one thing im wondering is though ......... if u workout would it be ok to inject into the delt........ u will have good amount of blood flowing though there when u workout..............this is one of the links i seen that stated delts are not a good inection site........... http://t-nation.com/readTopic.do;jsessionid=2BD0B111B5BFD71ECD6EC9849FD82101.titan?id=462099

The study brock refers to is the one we have been talking about. I would guess that if you are only injecting once a week 100mg/ml 1 ml, that quads would be the easiest, glutes a close second. Whatever it is, you should problably be consistent. If you are taking higher amounts i see no problem rotating to other sites.

i wish some1 would test how effective delts are on some1 who works out............i'm thinkin delts would prob work fine then...............i could be wrong though

I recall that somewhere along the line SWALE indicted that the only two sites he advises he patients to use are the glutes and the quads.

I believe that he was afraid of vascular damage from long term use in othere areas.

True, my patients are only authorized to use glute and thigh sites. The glutes will become "spent" over time, so they must be retired in favor of the more generous thigh areas.

As always, aspirate.

I do fear the various vascular and neurological structures present in the delts. While they may be used safely and effectively long term if one is careful, intelligent, and a good dancer, from a practical standpoint, physicians really cannot prescribe their employment for IM injections. It just isn't worth the risk (or worrying about same).

By "spent", do you mean useless? How does this rotation sound: L Glute, R Glute, L Thigh, R Thigh, repeat. Should this rotation keep everything working properly?

swales point is well taken, if you are only injecting 1cc a week there seems little reason to experiment with delts or anything else. When you are taking much larger doses it becomes pratical for rotation purposes.
