i'm the guy that was on 1g of test for two years straight. i've been off test for 5 months now and have done hcg and standard clomid/nolvadex therapy for the past month and a half.

things were going well as my previous blood tests showed improvement in my levels thanks to the clomid. All post clomid results show FSH and LH high, random test high, est low (on .25mg arimidex twice/week), prolactin low, free test low but slowly was coming back.

Free T levels (range 30-130)

04/28/05 - 47.9
05/26/05 - 50.3
06/18/05 - 44.8
started clomid july 1
07/14/05 - 61.0
07/28/05 - 70.9
08/09/05 - *55.5*

my last results i just got back and even though thanks to the clomid FSH and LH are still very high, my Free T just dropped a lot. Not to mention throughout all of this i've felt like complete shit, have every symptom of low t, etc. I suppose it could be a wrong blood test.

My question is how can my free T go down while having really high FSH and LH levels (and normal other levels) If by my next blood test my Free T is still low does this mean my HPTA is compromised?

THanks

I don't think that it means that your HPT Axis is totally compromised, it could just mean that your still in for a long haul to get the HPT Axis re-set. I read somewhere that it can take some individuals as long as 1 1/2 years or more to get functioning back.

And that one test may have been an anomaly. Would need to see what follow-up tests show. A continued decline could, of course, spell trouble.

I have a link around here somewhere on a small clinical study that was done for AAS users and "re-starting" the HPT Axis... Let's see....

http://www.basskilleronline.com/hpta_reversal.html

"Although cases of spontaneous return to eugonadism with no medicinal intervention have been published, these reports documented durations anywhere from 6-18 months before normal hormone status was achieved (Gazvani et al, 1997; Wu et al, 1996)."

Interesting. If your LH and FSH are high, then it is the testes that haven't recovered yet. I don't understand why they are refusing to make more testosterone when they are under the influence of hCG and LH.
