Yea I didn't know I was pulling bloods, doc ordered it at the appointment, didn't know they even drew blood in the office. The day before I did the most intense leg workout I've done in a long time. I'm fairly confident with my other values it it is training intense and muscle breakdown.I assume you did not stop working out for atleast a week prior to the test, correct?
CK is highly dependant on muscle damage. If i took it after heavy deadlift day it was close to 10k. For CK, ALT/AST and some other values you should pause training for at least a week due to the long half-life (CK around 36h)
What was the indication to measure CK?My CK came back at 1229, the range is like 46 to 299 or so. Everything else is smack in middle of the range.. BUN, creatinine etc. Can post images if needed
I just pull bloods from time to time, checking liver kidneys cholesterol etc. My last CK was high as well, wasn't too worried about that. My liver enzymes were on the high side but in range(just barely) so thats more why I pulled these bloods, liver looking good nowWhat was the indication to measure CK?
In general, such a value can be ignored if it's, as you described, a day after your most intense leg workout in a long time.
Note that ALT and AST values are also commonly mildly elevated in resistance trained individuals as a result of muscle damage. (I'm assuming you're refering to these two with liver enzymes.) At a young age, drawing bloods without indication rarely shows something relevant and all too often shows false abnormalities.I just pull bloods from time to time, checking liver kidneys cholesterol etc. My last CK was high as well, wasn't too worried about that. Yea im expecting a call, and have an appointment set up, just gathering others experiences.Your doctor should contact you (as they usually do) and discuss values that are well out of range. I'd hit them up for a retest and get some peace of mind.
This ^^. Good post.I assume you did not stop working out for atleast a week prior to the test, correct?
