Blood work:thyroid

I'm going do the docs tommorow as my ass won't stay off the floor and I'm constantly tired.One thing I want checked is my thyroid.I have some symptoms of hypothyroid but I'm sure there are many other things it could be(I'm 44 yrs old).I'm going to ask for a full thyroid panel which I believe is tsh,t4 and t3 uptake.Is this correct?Have I miised anything?

I think they will also check TBG, thyroxine binding globulin, I had to look that up, I didn't remember what it stood for

dude this so sounds like me. I dont know if i have hypo or hyper but when i dont take my synthroid my ass hits pillow im out. My neck gets enlarged, and i get angry and yeh i get fat oh and bags under my eyes. If this is you, you got what i got, nothing big they just give you a pill that you gotta take everyday.

wow. I just went to the doctor yesterday for these same symptoms. This past week, I've been sleeping 14 hours/day. I get home from work and tell myself, okay, a little nap and off to the gym... I wake up and it's 2am. I'm fed up with it. I haven't worked out in 5 days because of it. Yesterday I went in, and the doc took blood for the thyroid. We'll see how it works out. Wish me luck... and to the guy who started this thread, good luck to you. Pls post results... I will post mine. I should get them back next thrusday afternoon.

Had to meet with a nurse practitioner.I go to a med center that is kind of like an assembly line.They did a cbc,liver and tsh.I asked about a thyroid panel but she said tsh is where they start.I'm pretty pissed as I know this one is very basic.I guess I'll have to see the endo.It wasn't a total waste as I know I should have these done but...
