Blow.... the movie

Am I the only person who thinks that it is the saddest movie ever? I mean, the guy was just trying to make a buck, you know? What did he do wrong. Drug dealing is capitalism at it's finest. Find a market and supply the market with whatever the demand will support. Demand goes up, so does cost. Deman goes down and cost follows. We worship guys like Pullman and Rockefeller and they were two of the shadiest buttfuckers who ever lived.

Story about Pullman: I had a teacher in HS whose grandfather had worked for Pullamn for 40 some odd years. 6 months before his retirement, Pullman busted him down to some bullshit janitor position so that he didn't have to pay his loyal worker a decent pension. So much for loyalty.

Blow is a great film, but then any film Jonny Depp has been in has been very good. The ending is very emotional yeah

i'm a Depp fanatic..........

George Jung sealed his fate when he didnt let Pablo Escobar(a true genius) kill his partner.......
on a side note....when his partnertakes over his biz and sets up shop on a private island......in real life the fucker had an airport landing strip and a 5 star hotel built on the island....

I was surprised George wasn't killed by his partner when he came on the island and put a gun to his head.

Have you seen the 9th Gate and From Hell? Great films especially 9th Gate - I love demonic films and that was a pretty clever one

I can't believe you guys bought into all that crap. yes, blow was a decent movie but I won't allow myself to feel sorry for him because some melodramatic film sees him as some tragic hero. Hey, instead of focusing on his sad story why not show all the lives and people destroyed by cocaine addiction, hows that for a sad story. Live by the sword, die by the sword is what I says.

The reason George wasn't killed is because in real life that part didn't happen, there are alot of parts in the movie that were made up for entertainment reasons.

Stevemac........ I agree with you. I mean dont get me wrong, what adults do is there biz as long as they're responsable. but as we know alot of that coke ended up being turned into crack later in the 80's and destroying alot of lives....mainly when it ended up in kids hands.

right you are stevie mac!!!!

It must of been on TV because my mother watched it and told me how sad it was also, I was pretty surprised.. I think it was a great movie, and a sad ending.. It shows how friends no matter how much you trust them, and how loyal you think they are, will shoot you in the back, the moment they get the chance to save their own ass..

Stevemac, I don't feel sorry for cokeheads and people who destroy their lives with garbage like that.. They are weak minded to begin with.. Live by the sword, die by the sword, but in the end only the strong survive..

From Hell was a great movie, but not very factual. If youre interested in the story of Jack the Ripper, pick up Patricia Cornwell's book Portrait of a Killer. Someone finally took a forensic approach to the story to determine who Jack the Ripper really was. Very interesting read and Cornwell does a great job of explaining DNA and whats useful and whats not. The movie was cool too, but says Jack was someone else.

Personally, I have no respect for people like Pablo Escobar. The History Channel did a biography on him, talking to the DEA and whatever agents, along with Columbians etc. He ran a huge coke empire but it was nice to see his bullet-riddled body lying motionless on the roof of the house. Fuck him and all the families that he ruined.

Blow is a great movie. Like someone said it is Capitalism at its finest. You must also remember like others said that coke did destroy many lives. Many, Many lives and familys. It still does today. It is a good movie and it is sad that when they finally got him good he was just going to do it once to take his daughter to California. But to be honest he's a fool. Greed is what took him down. Once you have 30 million dollars instead of continuing to do something illegal that will make you lose everything and go to prison. Why not dip out of the game and start a legitamate buisness. With that kind of cash it shouldnt be a problem. You need money to make money. He just got greedy. Anyways, I like Scarface better. Much more entertaining if you ask me. But again.. Fictional or not, He went down due to greed also.

OK, so don't feel sorry for the drug abusers but you should feel sorry for their families, my cousin had a heavy coke addiction and his parents who are perfect for each other almost got a divorce over the whole thing,he robbed them and us of tons of money, and his little sister didnt see her big brother the way she always did. Cocaine is bad my friends.

Yeah, but it isn't the dealers' fault that people become coke heads. That's the individual's fault. It's not like you do cocaine once and turn into an addict. It's a long, long process and there are plenty of points at which a guy can stop doing it, so it isn't the dealers fault.

Blaming the dealers for supplying a service is like blaming dude's who own gun stores for the murder rate.

Depp had to get hooked on cane bad to be able to play that part so damn good. Anyways i'm glad to see a Kentucky boy like Jonny do so good in film i think he has came along way since the Tom Petty video IMO.

Of course!!! I feel horrible for anyone who would have to go through that.. Thats the worst part.. I can't think of a worse situation then watching someone kill themself slowly, could you? I realized quickly, you cannot change people, no matter how much you talk to them, or do for them they will not change what they are going to do.. At the end it's up to the individual.. Those drugs are terrible, I've never seen a happy ending to any situation that involved that, and probally never will..

i thought it was a good movie, however, i have only watched it that one time because it bothered me alot as far as "friends" and loyalty are concerned.
