Caloric deficit

we know that slow dieting is the best way preserve muscle while cutting. 500 cal deficit should equal 1lb bf weekly. I read a article and can't seam to find it , but it says you can do extreme dieting for a week only and you will not loose muscle. Any longer you will loose a significant amount of muscle. Does anybody know the facts behind this? So hypotheticaly speaking you can do a 500cal deficit for a few weeks then once throw in a very low cal week your total fat loss would be greater and muscle retention would remain the same.

from your link in another thread ;), I found this.
http://roguehealthandfitness.com/fasting-mimicking-diet-slows-aging
"bodyweight dropped by 3%, and almost the entire loss was fat, not muscle".
and thanks for the link.
whether or not this would work into weeks of a "traditional" cut, idk.
I personally, like short durations of over eating and under eating. that's just me. Ive posted about diets like this before.
ive always been a "big guy". ive never had problems putting on muscle, or losing it. but I can get soft with the "wrong" macro % (too many carbs, for me) and extended "bulks".
but everyones different. and I don't know if I recommend "extreme diets" for those still growing, those under 30.
ive also never run a "real" cycle. my time "on" might come out to be a 16 wks, or a long cycle, running 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in the last 5 years. they do produce results. soon enough I may run a cycle.

try it out see what happens.
post results.

I somewhat fast already. I wake up at 430am and don't until 9. It's funny how I don't count that as a somewhat fast since its 9 am. Lol. I have been dropping fat I'm still in a deficit. I was just curious is short extreme diets work. If only for a few days. Only way to find out is try I quess.

EQ and/or mast will help retain LBM during caloric deficiet. I ran EQ last year on a hard cut. I lost a little in measurement but feel. It was due to the 10% bf drop and diuretics I was prescribed.

I'm actually on my trt cruise. 150 test week. Wanted to really lean down before my next blast. bodyfat really creeped up the past year.

I would say they work... for me.
some argue calories in, calories out. but in what kind of time frame.
from some things ive read, under then over eating leads to a recomposition effect.

Even that will help retain LBM. But either way you do it bro, you will loose SOME LBM. I would try it the way you planned it out and see what happens. Trial and error for what works or doesn't for you is half the fun. I would love to see a log here if this nature. Cycle only logs get monotonous.

don't most steroids do that.

I have about 10 weeks left. wanted to loose 10-15 lbs of bf.

Yeah I'm loosing just fine with a 500 cal. Deficit.

Most do to a degree. EQ and Mast have a hardening effect, a very low conversion so water can be pulled easier. And yes EQ makes you hungry but I used that to my advantage and was able to stomach the same bland meals over and over. There is good reason competitive bodybuilders use these drugs during contest.

the idea behind recomp diets is to loose fat while maintaining lbm, or gaining. its a touchy subject and its not for everyone. nor does it work for everyone, maybe.
and yeah. trial and error. find out what works and fun with it.

I don't know why eq does that.
but hunger is not always a bad thing. im sure you've heard of ghrelin, aka the "hunger hormone". it boosts gh. which may have something to do with why some of these diets work.
and if you can find a way to use that to your advantage... awesome.

Dealing with the feeling of being hungry, I actually got used to it after a couple weeks. The hardest part was the real deal hunger pains. The kind that makes you want to throw up.

I think tren may be the only thing that can really make a recomp happen. They say if you stay at around maintainace it's possible to do both, but at a snails pace and nothing that dramatic.

I'm still waiting for that magic recomp diet. Carb cycling was one. Keto with weekly refeeds was another. Now i think Intermediate fasting is another with those claims. Lol.

I just factored in all my macros today for the first time EVER! Damn it sure is hard to fit in 3000cal of healthy shit.

Meal one : 4 eggs, 3 oatmeal packets, 1cup cottage cheese
Meal two: preworkout shake w/carb powder.
Meal three: post workout shake w/carb powder.
Meal four: tuna packet with 2 cups rice.
Meal five: 2 chicken breasts and 1 cup rice.
Meal six: 4 eggs and one cup of cottage cheese.
I'm only like 5'9 180
