You could but it will not filter out all of the bad shit. Its only a .45 membrane. It could be used to prefilter something I suppose, but that will just reduce the overall yield from your brew (filter will hold a little of the oil)
But if I'm not mistaken that's what had been commonly used for a long time, the .45 size
I got one for free i know a lot of guys have used them just feel a little uneasy about i already used it wondering if i should refliter

Wedo - so PES doesn't hold up very well to BA. Only use like 1% if you're using this filter. Nylon is what I use.

Did some reading way back and I can remember 3% was what the testing was done with and it wasn't an immediate failure of the membrane, it did show signs of failure after a certain point though. That certain point, presumably volume passed through the filter, is something that I can't remember.

Definitely use 0.22s
0.45s allow lots of bacteria to pass trough.
