Can you start hcg part way into a cycle?

Say I do a simple ass cycle of 500 test c per week for 12 weeks. Could I add hcg in around week 4 at 250iu E/O? Would this still be sufficient to get the benefits of on cycle hcg, or does it have to be from the start?
