BACKGROUND
I am an early 40s dad of three and married for 14 years now. I am 6 ft; 230 pounds and DEXA scan says I am in the low 20% body fat range. This includes an estimated 15 pounds of loose skin I plan to have surgically removed this year. I have been lurking on the Meso boards for the past year.
I grew up very involved in sports and in decent health/shape; a state-ranked tennis player, lacrosse, select club basketball, and linebacker in football. I was pretty depressed at the same time and was in a constant existential crisis about the purpose of life. I skipped a ton of school in high school and eventually dropped out due to excessive absences. After dropping out and not having a coach yelling at me, I gained 100 pounds and got super obese eating Taco Bell at 2am playing Xbox. Over the following 20 years, I eventually ballooned up 370 pounds (maybe even higher as I avoided the scale) and probably around 50% body fat.
Somehow, I had convinced my now-wife to marry my sorry ass. Had a few kids, but was still a lame mofo until 2023 when I got into Jordan Peterson content and started to get my shit together. Started zero-carb carnivore on 1/10/23, lost 140 pounds since then and put on 30 pounds of muscle; walked/jogged 5 miles every day (or Peloton with higher intensity); and lifted every other day using the RP Hypertrophy app for tracking progress -- I am super consistent. My depression is all gone and I now feel like I am starting to embody the spirit of a mature man, though I still have far to go. Took me long enough; I'll tell you that.
GOALS
1) Mature further through the discipline & hobby of bodybuilding; leveraging this way of life to reach other goals like successful entrepreneurship
2) Enter a bodybuilding competition in late 2026
3) Safely and smartly use AAS for as long as I can
EXPECTATIONS
Use this forum to gain helpful new knowledge and increase harm reduction understanding & methodologies while helping achieve my goals to compete. I hope to be helpful where I can be for others and learn from others more experienced than myself.
