Drugs, weapons found in officer's home

[SIZE=-1]The investigation into the prescription drugs intersects with an investigation into one city police officer shooting another in the hand late last month. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1][Dr. James Wallace] Sego was arrested and charged with felony counts of illegally selling prescription painkillers and other drugs on Thursday. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]Cleveland Police Officer Jonathan Hammons was arrested on Wednesday and former Cleveland Police Officer Dennis Hughes was arrested on Thursday. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]A third officer is expected to be arrested after the first of the year when he completes treatment, according to Drug Task Force Director Mike Hall. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]Hammons and [Nathan] Thomas remain suspended without pay as a result of an internal investigation by the police department. Hughes resigned as a result of the investigation and Officer Chris Mason remains on leave as a result of a gunshot wound to his hand. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]When agents entered Thomas' residence at 152 Winding Glen Drive N.W., according to the inventory on the search warrant, they took financial documents, "a large cardboard box with extremely large amounts of various drugs, samples, etc. (too numerous to list individually)," weapons, syringes and cell phones.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]"One white plastic snorting device (ink pen) with yellow residue" was found in the master bedroom in a decorative drawer near the top of the dresser, along with several other items, such as "one prescription box w/1 glass vial inside labeled DEPO-Testosterone."[/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]Among the weapons were two .22-caliber Glenfield rifles, one with a serial number and one without, and a Sig Sauer P2229 .40 caliber. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]Records seized during the serving of the search warrant at Sego's office, indicate the doctor prescribed more than 6,000 oxycodones, 1,000 hydrocodones and a combination of Xanax and steroids to Thomas within the last year. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=-1]The search warrant also indicates Thomas received 720 oxycodones, 200 hydrocodones and 90 Xanax from Oct. 22 to Nov. 20 from Sego. [/SIZE]
