FIrst off I am a huge Broncos fan and I like Portis but I think Denver got the better deal...A second round pick in the NFL Draft is huge, they can get a reall big playmaker in the 2nd round...Look at all the quality receivers this year, hell there is probably 6-7 wideouts that could go first round...SO they get the 2nd best corner in Football(Ty Law #1) and a big time playmake to boot...Nuff said...IRON Jay
I agree with almost everything you said. Denver def. got the better deal. They have proven they can bring in a back they get in the later rounds and he will turn out to be a badass. Look at Olandis Gary, Terell Davis, and Mike Anderson...all late picks and good NFL RB's.
Plus, to have one of only 2-3 complete shutdown corners in the league is huge. Champ (used to live across the street from him and his bro Boss...we would fuck around throwing the football in the parking lot of our apartments) is the #1 corner in the NFL. #2 doesn't go to Ty Law, but to Charles Woodson when he is healthy. I would rank Law as #3.
Champ is the real deal. He isn't big at all..probably weighs about 185-190 dripping wet, and is not tall at all...maybe 5'10"-5'11" tops. But when you can run under a 4.3 40 and got some leaping ability...there isn't a whole lot a WR can accomplish on that side of the field. Plus, no QB will try and nut up to prove something by throwing towards Champ. If they do...lol...it is getting taken to the house by Champ.
Tell you what though, Boss Bailey is a freak of nature. I am sure you have all seen the highlights of his vertical jumps while at UGA. Dude has got like a 48" vertical man...ridiculous. Yeah, I used to live across from him too...him and his baby's momma and little girl. Cool dude...drove a pimped out Navigator. Last time I saw champ, he was cruising in his Black Porshe. He also has (from what I have seen) a 700 series BMW and I forget what model Benz he has...but all exremely pimp. I am also boys (actually acquaintences with Randy McMichael...TE for the Dolphins, Ben Watson who holds the UGA Bench Press record of 560lbs...I may be off a little, but it is right around there. Also, Terrnace Edwards...but not like the others.
