Competitive Bodybuilding and Gear

i would like to hear from competitive bodybuilders what their cycle durations are per year and approx weekly aas intake (in grams) while on cycle.....i have begun working with a trainer to compete next year and will of course ask him his perspective but i wanted to hear from u guys on how much u cycle in order to compete....i.e. is it 1-2 moderate cycles per year or constant juice all year round...i will be a novice competitor (npc)....i am just trying to get an idea of what i should be prepared for at that level....
 
Depends on your goals and what competitions you are going to do. If this is just a hobby one good 12 week cycle/ cutter a year will get you in great shape. Depending on your weight class at the NPC you may not even need gear. You should go to a few shows and look at the competition in your area. It isn't the most muscular that always takes the trophy. It is always the one in the best condition.

yep...my trainer ordered me to the next show in august....i am surprised about the no gear option....we have discussed the super heavy weight class for me...i thought for sure that at that level i would need it...but it is just a hobby....have to keep my day job

If you want to place or win, your gonna need gear.....if you want to go no gear, go for a natural contest, but even then your competition may be on or have recently used something....

I started using steroids in 2001 and have done two 12 week cycles a year since then- my doses are moderate as i respond well to gear. total intake 1500mg was the highest- 750 test{karachi} 400 {Norma}deca and 50mg a day for 6 weeks of dianabol{Danabols}. I will be upping the doses in future as Id like to compete at a very high level
 
im doing my first novice competition as well, but as a nabba competitor..so the competition isnt as rough as it is in NPC. But, i like the time on=time off rule, i keep my dosages moderate. I think high doses are only really needed when dieting to get super lean to preserve muscle (you worked hard for all that muscle, do you really wanna loose it?). For example im on 600mgs masteron...50mgs winny ED, 500mg prop, for the last 3 weeks of my dieting..around 5% now. During a bulk cycle i keep it simple...750mgs test..400 deca...25mgs dbol 1st 3 weeks to kickstart...nice n simple...pre contest gets a lil more complicated tho..as i prefer hardening drugs...
 
I dont know if you guys have checked out chad nicholls board (The man who is the drug guru ummm i mean "Fitness Guru" ;) for many top IFBB pros including Ronnie Coleman, Craig Titus and Matt Duvall).But lots of competitors come there and i have seen many topics about the right prep that needs to be done to be in Lean,full and dry shape come game day.
