I've found that the effects wear off after a while, and cycling helps this. I also believe in giving my body a chance to return to normal with regards to creatine, so I cycle it on and off.
My experience shows that the best creatine option is the straight up el-cheapo generic creatine monohydrate powder. I use the unflavored and just add it to my pre and post w.o. drinks. I have seen no difference in the more expensive varieties of creatines out there. They all appear to work the same. Just make sure you take it with some sugars to enhance uptake.
