All these retards bitching abt being underpaid and mistreated from food delivery services or turning their own POS economy car into a taxi need to fuck off!

Newsflash assholes, transportation has always been a shit industry with shit ppl and dirtbags to deal with. You think because you are doing it in your Prius rather than a yellow painted taxi it’s going to be any better?

And all these food delivery assholes wanting to bitch and protest, morons standing in front of places holding picket signs abt being mistreated by food delivery app services, hahahahhaha. They could be using that time to go work on a resume or go work an actual job!! Like they can’t figure out that they’re expendable assets to these places and there are more dirt bags lined up willing to give it a shot if they don’t work out as contractors? Hahahaha

I agree. Something needs to be done about the God damn offshoring of the good jobs though. I have known people who were excellent workers. Intelligent, hard working, awesome people. They get laid off with half the rest of the workforce because the company is gonna hire it out to some awful place in India where people work 13 days straight, 10 hours a day, then get 1 day off. And they consider that to be GOOD!

If these delivery drivers didn't get educated, are lazy, or just won't TRY hard enough to mKe it off ground floor then fuck them. But if they are caught up in the fucking disgusting practices of businesses trying to make more money for the executives and shareholders...then I certainly have sympathy for then. We are living in some crazy times and The People can only take so much abuse from big business and big brother before shit boils over. What booking over truly looks like in the US remains to be seen...but the kettle has definitely been screaming for quite some time...

Seems to me the trades aren’t a bad route rt now. Jobs like fabricators and welders and such. Also, railroad companies seem like good jobs, sick retirement system, probably the best retirement out of damn near any business there is

Maybe if there wasn't such a demand for fast food delivery drivers then these people then ought to be considering driving trucks delivering products to stores, considering there's a shortage of dependable truck drivers.

DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats are also money grubbers that exploit their gig workers.

You ever see those grub hub commercials where all the cgi people are fat as shit? Hate how they promote sitting at home and ordering out, and covid lockdowns totally co-signed that bullshit.

But then they were “hero’s” during covid lockdowns haha! Risking their lives to deliver more fast food to high risk fatties so they could become even more high risk by sitting, eating, and worrying.

David Graber wrote a good book a few years ago entitled "Bullshit Jobs".

A bullshit job is where you don't really do anything. Like a person paid to guard a completely empty room. Or someone with a fancy manager title that might work 20 minutes a day.

It's not just these gig workers that are doing pointless work. The country has been moving in this direction for some time.

I take a look at my financial advisors, they make great money, but I can tell you they don't really work, they just get their cut and live a really nice lifestyle. Granted they had to get their CPA and naturally they expect you to have a masters because progressive credentialism is a national obsession even when it's not needed.

As for these food services, that stuff needed to be flushed long long ago. You drive down the street of any city and it's a franchise every 50 feet in the most obese country in the world. There was a time when you packed your sack lunch when you went to work or school, it wasn't that difficult and it was a whole lot cheaper and better for you. Calling someone to deliver food to your home, especially unhealthy food makes no sense.

And even funnier is the delivery drivers wearing their vehicles out when the cost of replacement is astronomical, I could see if you were on a company moped, but wearing out your own $35K+ vehicle to deliver burritos, someone has lost their damn minds.

What's funny is that this is precisely not what capitalism is supposed to do. Communism makes up jobs because they have to have full employment and that's basically what America is doing only with the private sector which is bizarre. It turns out that about 30% of the jobs in America right now if they disappeared you wouldn't even notice and some predict it closer to 40%.

So when all these business analyst start complaining about labor participation and other such bullshit, it's really a scam. Those vacant jobs don't even need to be filled and could disappear and no one is gonna die other than people are gonna be unemployed doing nothing just like they were doing when they were fully employed.

Hell yea, excellent points indeed!!

Then there are some few instacart people who really figured their shit out, got a solid system in place, and apparently rake in like 90k a year delivering groceries! Pretty crazy. Good for them.

The psychology of work has needed to become a major focus of interest to find out the reasons people hate so many aspects of the way they make a living.

The workplace had been a place of torture for many decades in this country.

People are looking to escape being watched if they work for someone, I see little difference between that and being in a prison for 10hrs a day, only the prison is better because you can play chess with a friend, read a book or do some exercise, or just chill out, you have choice.

Then you have the tyrants of the workplace that are all too common either management that watches the workers like they were in a prison yard, making sure no one enjoys their day, barking orders to get back to work if they see you spend a little too much time at the water fountain.

And you have the demeaning and demoralizing coworkers that often have mental issues and a enough power to bring people to dread their day of work, as they will be subjected to abuse and insults throughout the day with no way to escape unless they quit, which won't happen due to lack of skills or a build up in benefits and pay.

So when people do a bullshit job that offers them an escape, even though it's a dead end obviously, I suppose it's this desire to get away from the assholes that rule the workplace.

One thing I noticed in my own work in healthcare is the toxicity of the workplace. There were always a certain number of rude people that you were forced to work or interact with that would go out of their way to be cruel and insulting. They had enough seniority and title to get away with this and knew how to play the game, in that they would insult an equal or subordinate, but never their superior, so it was something they completely controlled and the workplace was fine with these cunts that play this sinister game for decades.

I saw the same thing when I'd put on health-fairs at factories a few times a year, many of the factory workers were polite and welcoming, but you'd get upper management that was staring at the workers telling them to get back to work(the knew this they didn't need to be reminded) after I was done with them. It was like a concentration camp for these people and after I had been there for a few hours on several days the manager started to boss me around and I was like "who the fuck are you talking to"?

I would propose a zero tolerance policy for those that are rude and insulting.

I'd shorten the work day. This 40hrs work week is bullshit, especially if you can get the work done in 3hrs/day. The current work week is really a product of an even crueler system where people(children as well) worked 7 days a week 15hrs/day during the industrial revolution. It was sadistic and so you got the 40hr work week that is less so, but it obvious people don't like it and don't want to spend 40-60+hrs a week doing shit they don't like, that's reality.

I'd put an end to this progressive credentialism. Males learn in ways other than sitting on their can in a classroom for hours upon end every day. It's not that they don't have intelligence, they designed and built the entire world, but the difference is they like to learn on their feet, not on their ass staring at a chalkboard. This is why so many women are graduating college, they are great at sitting on their ass......men and boys aren't wired for that.

Stop making mankind do things that support the machine, make the machine support mankind. What is the use of living if everything is turned upside down and now your entire purpose in life is to keep a machine going. Anti-tech writers have warned us about this for a long time.

This video is basically saying the lack of education is what puts these ppl in positions they hate. But the biggest difference I see nowadays is that ppl with low education and high education are getting lazy when it comes to work. Great video though

I thought the video was interesting because it points out the mind numbing experience of factory work that the human brain wasn't evolved for despite what our society claims it needs in order to thrive.

Education is a constant issue and often times an excuse why the work place is so screwed up and of course it's used as means of establishing a hierarchy to oppress those in a subordinate role, even though many of these subordinates could be trained, the degree is an excellent gatekeeper in order to terrorize, intimidate and demoralize.

Laziness is built into the system, the entire purpose of higher education is to get out of doing work or at the very least to avoid any contact with unpleasant work. The problem is this isn't really the purpose of true capitalism. If capitalism was really what we were practicing we would question this system and stop paying someone more just based on academic accomplishments and instead pay them more for doing the shit work no one wants to do. Our modern workforce is more in line with the caste system, where one is only allowed to do a job if they have the proper qualifications, instead of the old caste system that assigned your station in life based on birth.

To me we either practice capitalism or we don't. I'm not sure what you would call this current system, but if profit is your motive this seems like an ass backwards highly inefficient means of accomplishing it. Perhaps it's the same old thing, the police state was set up to protect the elites from the masses of discontents that might one day question why they should work so hard just to cater to the upper class.

Gig work is just a reaction to what happens to older workers often when they get burned out. Both of my parents left their employers. My dad left his when he was 47 and became self employed and is still self employed after almost 25 years. My mother left her job at the age of 56 because she had put up with a coworker that had harassed and belittled her to the point of a nervous breakdown almost becoming suicidal and had so destroyed her quality of life she simply couldn't take it anymore.

There's a lot of human carnage out there in the workplace. It doesn't just have to do with work, most people will work hard if they are treated with respect and dignity and a little kindness. The workplace has been a savage son-of-a-bitch for many many years. I know when I started after getting out of college that first year was brutal, people calling up on the phone cussing me out because they could, talking to me like dog shit. I look back on those early years and I don't think too many young people would put up with that kind of misery. Those old school baby boomers were straight up mother fuckers to work with.

I sort of see a new generation of pussies that can’t handle criticism at all. Doesn’t matter how nice you try to instruct them or hand out work orders, their feelings get hurt one way or another.

The biggest change I've noticed with the new generation is the expectation to be promoted rapidly to a supervisor position.

The employees I was surrounded by were all college educated and many of them had masters and PhD's.

Honestly it doesn't even seem a workplace is about getting work done, it's more like dog and pony show where you show off and compare yourself to others and see who comes out on top. That's why employers started adding these endless lists of initials to name badges indicating your academic and certification accomplishments. People got to the point where they didn't even care about you, they would walk up and grab your badge to see if you had the proper letters behind your name before your were deemed worthy.

The low hanging fruit that built the American Middle Class is long gone and it's been replaced by a broken system of extravagance built on easy credit and mountains of debt. Only in a society that has becomes decadent do you go to school for 6 years in order to do what someone could have done in the past with 2 years of training.

Ted Kaczynski pointed it out as surrogate activities when life is no longer a challenge you artificially construct challenges(goals) in order to realize the power process. In other words a goal just to have a goal since our biological needs are easily supplied thanks to modern civilization.

Agreed. The education requirements half the time don’t even fit the job descriptions! My stepdaughter went to school to be a cardiac stenographer and when she finished she got into insurance instead. Her husband began at a community college and after 1 semester of taking prerequisite classes such as math, English, etc he said fuck it and enrolled in a welding school that ONLY DOES WELDING. I don’t think it’s a bad choice nowadays at all, why not start working and saving money than working to be behind the 8 ball and pay back an education you’ll never even use?
