Digital camera/ camcorder

Anyone know much about them. Last year I was looking at the sony dcr trv 50.It seemed to have exactly what i want. What is the best route to get a good deal and a quality camcorder/camera combo. Price range under 1000 bones Thanks for the responses

I had the TRV17. Incredible camcorder, but it got stolen.
I think it was about $1200 new about a year and a half ago.
Can't go wrong with Sony
The Cybershot is a great digital cam too

My advice, go to a sight like dealtime.com and price shop....Sears will match most online prices if you use a cc. you just have to print out the online page w/ shipping charges and they match almost all places. I bought a sony dcr trv 840 a couple years ago for under $654.00 and is retailed for $899.00 at the time. The guy at Sears couldn't believe how much I was saving.

Buck, I price matched my TRV-17 @ Sears 2 yrs ago from a site called BestBuyDV.com
The camera was $1200 EVERYWHERE and i got it got for $700 @ Sears........I convinced them that bestbuydv was "Best Buy's" online video store and they cut me the $400 discount. I shit you not. This scam was alll over cnet.com and I didn't believe it. I tried it and it worked.....it took me 3 stores to get it to work,,,,,unfortunately someone stole the camera the day before I was moving back to Boston......I gues they were smart enogh to plan the 'heist" before I moved back and didn't have time to spend and look for it....those fuckin bastards.......whatever though, it was my lasy night at the Walt Disney World College Program.......the best six months of my life.....i've never fucked more girls in a 6 month period ever.............
by the way......bestbuydv.com is a site that sells legit stuff but it is the thaliand version of stuff and its not american so its hundreds less than the actual price
