DNP Revelations

I wanted to make a post about my DNP experiences, being a frequent on-again, off-again user over the last 4 years. I am making many of these statements for the first time (to my knowledge). Keep in mind that everyone is different and these are all anecdotal where n=1... That said, I'm a fairly analytical, scientific, non-BS, non-superstitious person, and I feel that all of the claims I am making were well thought out and reasonably attributed to DNP.

Some background. I used to be a really fat kid. Obese. I eventually lost over 70 lbs of fat via some combination of anorexia, lifting, and running, but my entire life I had been yoyo dieting. If I got down to single digit bf %, I would rebound a few months later and be fatter than ever. My setpoint bodyfat % was so high that I could not lose weight without it slowly creeping back up.

1. That brings me to my most important revelation/anecdotal finding... DNP absolutely changed my setpoint bodyfat %. My on-again-off-again DNP usage for the last 4 years made it so that I never really got hungry while losing fat. Before that, I would instantly rebound at the end of my diet because I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about food. I would say that I am about 10-15% bodyfat less than when I started cycling on and off DNP, yet my bodyfat no longer wants to creep higher when I am off. Again, this is not a scientific study by any means, but I am reasonably convinced that DNP has the power to stop yoyo dieting in people.

2. My body temp has never gone above 98 on DNP except once (I'll get to that in a minute). I've used as high as 900mg DNP several days in a row. In anything, no matter how hot and sweaty I'm feeling, my body temp usually DROPS. One time, my body temp got to 100+ when I used it in conjunction with T3. That was the most dangerous my body temp has ever gotten on DNP.

3. The most painful experience I've ever had was from DNP use. I don't hear this DNP phenomenon described much, but at least one other user has confirmed. Multiple times while using ~500mg of DNP, I had a sharp pain on my ankles like one wouldn't believe... It felt like a 2000 lb elephant was sitting on them. This happened to me about 2-3 times in the last 4 years. I am not sure what caused it, but given that it only happened while I was on DNP (and nothing else), I am certain it was from DNP use. As I said, one other person confirmed that this happened to him as well.

4. I developed a long-term tolerance to DNP. Sure, there is the short-term tolerance that most people usually experience. But I can tell you that even when taking 4 month breaks from DNP, its effect is diminished compared to the first time that I took it. I remember the first time I did a cycle of DNP at 400mg I lost 10 lbs of fat and was always short of breath... compare this to the last time I took DNP and ran about the same diet after a 4 month layover, I only lost ~4 lbs and felt fine. DNP is still a great agent for weight loss... but it's no longer the miracle that it once was. I used to be able to eat anything (and I mean anything...) on it and still lose 1 lb every 3 days.

5. For some reason, both strong stims (coffee, adderall, etc) and some steroids alleviate the heat from DNP. If I feel super hot like I'm dying on 600-800mg DNP, and I pop a strong stim, I feel much better. Also whenever I start a cycle, I no longer feel so hot and out-of-breath when on DNP.

6. No one talks about this... but DNP tans you. No joke. When I start taking a cycle, I get a DNP tan within a few days and people ask me if I went to the beach. Conversely, when I stop taking it after a long period of time, I suddenly look white, pastey, lose a lot of vascularity, and look washed out to a degree.

7. DNP is addicting, especially for a former fatty like myself. We all know that carbs can be just as addicting as drugs... imagine being able to eat as much of them as you want, without consequence. No one has outright said it... but after reading many logs on this board, I know that there are quite a few people who are addicted to DNP as a drug. You heard me right. A few members (sometimes myself included) aren't using it as a weight loss agent like clen, ephedrine, T3, etc... But rather, because it's so powerful, as a drug that allows them to fulfill their addiction to food without consequence. I certainly hope there are no long term effects, because this is quite scary.

So, how many of these have other DNP users also experienced?

1.) I partially agree, although I cant pin point this on DNP, I lost roughly 25kg natural before using DNP, I then got to an all time low body weight and purposely starting eating like a pig, now iv gained 20kg and it actually seems hard to put on these last few kgs. I khow I will put them back on, but it seems like im finding it difficult to get back to my former weight

2) Agree, this was at circa 750mg

3) Nope

4) I only went 'off' for 1 month before restarting and noticed a slight tolerance. I will guage my tolerance on my next cycle, wich means I would have roughly 5months off.

5) Nope

6) lol I kind of got this, but i ran in the summer so that may have contributed to it. But I think the DNP may have tanned me slightly, you may be right.

7) Your way off....lol. I am a former fatty and have to disagree, you should be able to control your diet now. I ran a relatively high dose, but I will only use DNP to cut down. Im definately not addicted and only intended to use it after a bulk to shed the bf. I dont even belive DNP can be used to justify crappy eating (Unless your super sensitive to DNP) because if you eat enough, you could always outstrip the calorie expenditure DNP creates, unless you ramp up the dose, but then who wants to be sweaty, tired etc all the time just to eat crappy food. The majority of the time you should be eating clean and fat gain should be minumim anyway.

Not saying that everyone abuses DNP (you obviously don't from what you said), but from the logs I've seen on this board I'd say some people do.

Not sure how to explain the use of stims increasing the heat tolerance, but it's definitely true for me... e.g. on 600mg right now and dying... popped an EC and now I'm fine. I theorize it has to do with the mobilization of fat from taking EC as opposed to using glycogen as an energy source. Maybe Conciliator can chime in.

Yes, this is also true for me. If I use EC or A-Yohimbine , it makes a huge difference and the makes the heat feel like its barely there anymore.

Not wanting to derail, but how do you think one would respond to DNP if ECA did completely nothing in terms of curbing appetite and making you "wired" (no side effects whatsoever).

i wouldn't rule out #4 as possible neuropathy. I brought up on another forum 2-3 years ago that I had what felt like water retention in my feet. 2 weeks later at around 400mg I began having shooting pains in my toes and it was painful to walk. at that time my right wrist felt like it weighed 100lbs when I raised it from certain positions. It took a little over a month of not being on DNP for this to go away. I had 2 others PM me on this who had experienced similar symptoms in their feet. I was unable to find much on this.. but I did find at least one on elitefitness where someone was explaining how his friend (a female) couldn't get out of bed and go to work because she had the same problem. She was on DNP

I've seen it stated in some sites chemist sites that neurological problems are a side effect of DNP and exposure to some other chemicals, but don't know to much other then that.

while this shouldn't be a total suprise, my experience with neuropathy and the above should be brought into cosideration, I would think

while I'm sure a lot of us have seen the few studies on the nueroprotective effects and possible benefits against some diseases, a simple search of "dinitrophenol parkinson's" displays a page on google a chapter in book on the pathogenesis of the disease and DNP is mentioned

I think this is spot on. I had some intense nerve damage while on DNP last time in my legs from MMA/Boxing. After going to quite a few specialists the pain could not be explained. The injury point was intensified due to "non-specific toxin inflammation of acutely damaged nerves" which the various specialists had one solution, aggressive stretching and handfuls of pain fillers.

Toxin reports (I stopped taking DNP for this) showed elevated toxins that varied but accumulation existed and lessened over time, as DNP would have been leaving my system.

When I just started another cycle and have gotten more never related pain, and can only fix it with stretching, some balls, and a high pain tolerance.

On a scale of one to ten, the worst I had gotten was an 11, yes, eleven. It hurt more than a liver kick, getting hit in the testicles with a baseball, and getting knocked-out from a 300 plus pound individual.

As for number six, it is a yellowing of the skin, which means you had too much DNP. I have seen some really yellow guys who took a lot of DNP and normally are pasty white.

Some good points in this thread, some thought were specific only to me.

Never had that kind of problem when running DNP. I don't seem to have developed any tolerance. Sure I only lose 5-6lbs a cycle now but I am considerably smaller than when I was losing 20lbs a cycle and I run cycles that dont stretch as long

I seem to have developed a tolerence after 3 weeks. I've been cycling at 600mg for most of that time and have ramped it up to 700mg now. The heat I'm feeling is less at 700mg than it was at 600mg in the begining.

Hey guys, I've never run DNP before but have been considering it lately. Have a question for you that have used it. How long is the typical cycle that you are losing 20 lbs?
