Experiences with coaches, both real life and online?

So I've been taking this more and more seriously, from getting form down to going 100% meal prep. The gym I go to at home is alright for equipment, but I'm pretty sure the owner stopped working out and just tans. He trains housewives and shit but it's definitely not the spot for me.

I go up north almost every weekend in the summer and there's a killer gym in an affluent area that's actually pretty hardcore. The owner is an older guy who has done competitions. I actually got to talk to him yesterday and realized how insanely accomplished he is. Winning titles for fuckin' 20 years, competing in 3 other sports. Dude seems like someone that really knows his stuff. I also overheard him talking about deca so I suppose he's at least open on that aspect too.

I wouldn't be able to work with him every day of the week but I would like to use the services more to get routine advice and more importantly nail my form on everything, no matter how long it takes. I'd like to futureproof my joints.

So what were you experiences? I know some of you more impressive guys have done it. I never learned lifting via HS sports or anything. I picked everything up in prison by dumbfucks who skimmed an issue of mens health from '97

I’ve used online coaches for my competing without issue. Both diet and training structure can be laid out with simple check in photos.

As far as teaching/correcting technique on movements, that’s best done in person. But be careful who you listen to.
